Personally I am curious that we have so many Alienware users commenting on the Clevo/Sager and Asus forum topics.

I sense itchy feet in favour of the mighty Cleeeeevoooo!......8) hehe.

Clevo + Backlit keyboard = Win Win, a shame they didn't implement it before.

I will admit I am a sucker for the M14x however, give it 900P and a GDDR5 GPU as standard and I am bought!

Even though I don't like the way they look, I will admit to flirting with the notion of an Alienware when the Saveology 25% off coupons were on-sale in November. With those coupons, they were no longer overpriced.

The two nails in the coffin were, of course the visual design for one, and the lack of a 15" platform. I ain't about to trek halfway across my city everyday with a satchel of bricks on my back.

Definitely a selling point with me towards Clevo andMSi is the 15.6", with the 14" alienware, from my perspective seems still more cumbersome than the competitor 15.6" and I lose an inch of screen. That along with the pricing will probably lead me to buy an MSI over an alienware, if I don't end up buying a Clevo. The key point for me is price :p. I'd happily tote an AW/Clevo/MSI if I got a great deal on either one. But if i'm paying retail, i'm looking towards the ones that have the styling and functionality I like the most.

TBH, I really like the look of my laptop. It looks clean, sleek, professional. I wish I could have the backlit keyboard, and it would be perfect!

The plain aesthetics is one of the main reasons I am highly considering getting one over a Lenovo or HP or something. I wouldn't want to be caught dead bringing something like an Alienware or G series Asus to one of my classes, they are just too tryhard and too spendy.

personally I LOVE the plain look of my sager. My backup laptop (acer, see SIG) has that flashy finish on the lid and the acer logo with led lights behind it. Even though I love that laptop I still wish acer hadn't tried to make it so flashy.

Its refreshing to have a plain black sager rather than a portable light show!

I personally don't like to stand out in a crowd.

I had a g53sw until a while ago, sold it to a my friend.
Honestly the look of it was awesome, the backlight keyboard, the finish,everything...but it wasn't on par on what I wanted performance-wise.
Specially when you use your laptop as a gaming machine that replaces your desktop.

I was kinda sad to see my games running bad, at least not in the way I was expecting to, when sitting on my bed comfortably while gaming and watching tv.
Because comfort and power was the thing I were looking for.

I hunted down this deal for a bit then I made the jump and boy I don't regret anything at all.

Last week I was sick in bed for almost 5 days and trust me, playing newer games at max settings while having an awesome performance and frame rate is way above plain aesthetics anytime.

All I noticed and felt but the look of my laptop, seriously.
And btw I do like a lot the look of the p150hm, mine is with rubberized finish and matte screen.

It's just my opinion on the matter but I couldn't care less if it looks crap.
It games and runs like a desktop only in a 15" body that I can play completely relaxed without the feeling of having an underpowered machine.

My sessions with Battlefield 3, shift 2 and dirt 3 while laying in bed never looked so awesome. At 60fps.

That looks good. Keyboard doesn't look old and dated like the other Sagers. The Asus Zenbook looks nicer though.

Thats the one thing I am going to miss about my Alienware laptop is its case and how amazing it looks and feels. The Sager to me while definetly more powerful has nothing on the design of the Alienware.

As far as being professional and "older" and pulling my AW out at a business function I have no problems at all. I do take off my slightly more risque screen savers though.

How many Alienwares and Asus' are out there? So, you and how many thousands (10s of thousands? More?) are 'individuals'?

I liked the understated, classy look of the plain black machine with a tasteful Malibal emblem on the lid and on the bezel. Unfortunately, mine showed up completely blank, which makes it look quite generic IMHO. Even funnier, in the bios, my machine says it's a Eurocom Racer. Oh, and it IS a 150 rather than the 151 I ordered. Since it was several days late in arriving, I decided it wasn't worth even mentioning to Malibal. I just accepted the little ugly duckling as it was. It works great!

That comment really had nothing to do with laptops, it was in discussion of our personal taste of everything as we age.
