I have tried looking in the BIOS but haven't found any options for disabling Hyper-Threading on the CPU (3610qm) in my Sager NP9150. I was wondering if there is some other way to disable and enable Hyper-Threading?
I want to disable Hyper-Threading because I want to see if it will help the performance of Shogun 2 Total war as the extra logical processors are barely used in game, and I want to see if the higher clock speeds would be more beneficial in melee battles, which are very CPU heavy and barely us the GPU.
Any help would be appreciated.

And 1 more thing, Clevo has added a feature that disables Turbo Boost when the dGPU is active to prevent large bump in power consumption for the P150EM, right now you should be seeing 2.3GHz across all cores when gaming.
To solve that you need to have ThrottleStop 5.00 turned on and running in the background so the Turbo Boost state doesn't get overridden by the BIOS when the dGPU is active. And you'll be seeing 3.1GHz across all cores almost full time. -
I'm getting 3.1GHz on all 4 cores while gaming

I figured that I would have to us some sort of BIOS mod, I was just hoping that there was some way around it. If you could suggest a BIOS mod that is relatively stable it would be much appreciated. Thanks for the response.
Attached is a screenshot of part of a log I made while playing the game. I used HWinfo64. The left 4 columns are the speeds of the 4 cores, and the rest are the utilization of each of the threads.Attached Files:

An easy way to test this is by running Prime95 and Kombuster at the same time, and see if your CPU can still maintain 2.9-3.1GHz during the stress test.
There's no stable BIOS that comes with Hyper-threading disabled out there for the P150EM yet as you might be the first one to come up with this idea. Disabling Hyper-threading is possible however flashing will always come with a risk of bricking the motherboard:

I didn't think that there were any easy way of disabling hyper-threading at the moment. I will try throttlestop as soon as I can to see if it improves performance in game. Also, this may be a stupid question, but what is the picture of?

running prime95 and kombustor at the same time will lower the gpu utilization. anyone knows how to address?

I don't believe there is much you can do about it. If the CPU is loaded up, it needs to feed the GPU so likely the GPU is waiting on the CPU. It's rare that any game will stress your CPU and GPU at 100% especially with a quad core.

All thanks to the awesome PxxEMx BIOS ...

For Prime95 + Kombuster, try increasing the settings on Kumbuster to increase the GPU's load. 8x AA and post-fx at a higher resolution.

Oh yeah, set it to 1920x1080 just noticed it was only 1280x720, and yeah increase AA as suggested.
How do I disable Hyper-Threading on 3610qm in 150EM?
