I don't get it, i have tried burning these files (57ru_11, 57ru_gtx, 57RUEC10) to a CD and restarting the PC with the CD and CD as first boot priority, but nothing seems to happen. I am on vista 64, if it matters. Please help.

Most manufacturers provide BIOS flash images in the form of a Windows executable. Download it to your desktop and run it as you would any other installer.

The downside of this method is that it is much less reliable; this is a significant drawback, considering that laptops do not have any means of repairing a broken BIOS.

@bog - clevo does not provide bios updates through windows, you have to be in dos.

@christianpma - you need to make the cd dos-bootable. It's easier to use a usb flash drive if you have one, follow the guide in my sig.

Oh, and make sure you extract the files from the zip files, make note of the .bat files to run the flashes, and flash the KBC/EC before the BIOS

when i try to run the compressed folder, it tells me that i should extract the files within first, so i do this. then, when i run 'update' or 'phlash16', i get a message saying that i can't run this in vista 64. what do i do? someone has got to have done this on x64 recently! :)

    Using Nero

    Using Infra Recorder (free)

Didn't test em just looked over em at our friend google, althought i did (when i still used nero) a bootable cd in nero and the software was almost self explanatory, you should have no dificulties.

=/ shame most resellers don't provide the updates in a .iso format, R&J tech did it for me without asking.
