I was just wondering? when i bought mine from xoticpc the most i could get was 4 gigs. Can u upgrade your self?
-
If you can find 4gb sticks of DDR3 RAM (don't think these exist atm
) then u can get 8 gigs if not then...maybe try DDR2 but 8 gigs ddr2 < 4 gigs ddr3 i believe. And yes you should be able to upgrade yourself just call your reseller (xoticpc) to let them know what you want to do and possibly get them to walk you through it in order to protect your warranty!
-
ddr2 is not physically compatible with the 8660, differently keyed ram sticks
-
oh it exists
get 2x4GB sticks at 1066
ddr3 of course -
any idea how much 2x4 sticks cost?
-
right around $1000
-
holey god what could i sale my 2 current 2 gig ddr3 sticks for?
-
just wait for notebook DDR3 prices to go down, they are starting to drop as more manufacturers produce them.
-
u can always pretend u have 8 gigs
-
Why do that when he can pretend he has 16GB RAM?
-
hey even better. through in a gtx 1 gig and you go for gold

6GB is about the most it has utilized so far with some large full HD video/audio editing. I haven't really had much of a chance to look at usage in games or much of anything else yet.

8GB into an 8660? I dunno, maybe a shoe-horn?
How do u get 8 gigs ram into Np8660?
