How do you bring your NP5797 around?

My mind is quite set to get the NP5797 over the NP8662 due to a few reasons (larger screen, better GPU, better heat dissipation due to a larger chasis). However, one thing that's holding me back is.. strangely enough, size.

It being long length-wise (called width in some countries, but I mean the side closest to you when the laptop is facing you) is fine, but it's also really large width-wise.

So I'm wondering, for those who have this laptop, or even other 17" or 18.4" inch laptops. How do you carry it around to and from work and overseas (keeping in mind you'll need a hard case of some sort or it'll get crushed in the overhead compartment)

if u really want something smaller get the np8662....

ik that u said that its has a worse GPU but some guys from the sager forum they put a 280GTX and a QX9300 in the np8662 and it is runnig pretty good and no overheat problems so far

Unless you have strong arm muscles I'd recommend a backpack.

I recommend a backpack but maybe you should look into getting the NP8662. It is a really great compromise between performance and portability.

The NP5797 is surprisingly one of the smaller performance 17 inchers on the market. However, the NP8662 is one of the larger 15 inchers with thickness up to 5cm. If you don't mind having a little more than 3cm in length and 2cm in depth, and 0.5kg less weight, then the NP5797 is for you. Otherwise, go with the latter.

Unless you want scoliosis later in life, both of these laptops should be carried properly in a backpack. Avoid man purses and pick out a good bag like a Wenger.

I use a backpack to carry mine around. Like others have said, make sure you get one that is well made. Personally I like my alienware backpack that I originally purchased for my old m9750.

I just use a targus messenger bag. It's a heavy laptop when you include the adapter and whatever else you're carrying. But tbh, it's not that big, I've quickly grown accustomed to it.

    Yep, this one here

It's not a bad bag. One padded main compartment for the laptop. A middle compartment for something slim like docs/book/mousepad/etc. And the outer compartment for your adapater, mouse, other accessories. And there's an outside zipper spot for docs you need to get to quickly like a boarding pass. And lastly there's a zipper on the side covering a meshed bottle holder lol. All I use it for is taking traveling to work and whatnot, but I never walk far. If you've traveling on foot for more than 5 minutes daily I'd recommend a backpack..

    Hi guys

I just ordered the Np5797 that comes with a leather bag. Is that any good? I ask because I will be taking my laptop to work on the subway. Thanks for the input.
