I don't know about you guys, but I love how damn pretty these laptops are. What I don't love is the smudge and dust magnets they turned out to be.

What do you guys do to keep yours pretty?

I kinda gave up on trying to keep it clean after the keyboard finish started showing signs of wear... It's only been about 3 months since I had it too :O

I've found that a simple microfiber cloth (like a lens cloth from a camera) does a pretty good job of wiping off the screen and chassis. The rubberized exterior on the P150HM is tougher to wipe clean, but not that much harder. The keyboard is simple to remove on most models if you ever needed to pop it out and get it thoroughly cleaned.

Also, a can of compressed air used to clean out the vents periodically will make a big difference in running temperatures (though, obviously it won't do anything cosmetically).

I placed a neoprene cloth over the laptop keyboard and no dust gets trough.

Im only using USB mouse and keyboard.

Cleaning the screen is easy with my laptop cleanup kit (consists of microfibre cloth and a neat dust brush). Using the brush on the screen, its really soft and picks the dust just fine.

Gotta clean the vents soon, gonna use my vacuum cleaner (1800W). Does the job just fine.

I've actually been advised to not use compressed air, as it tends to blow the dust further into the guts of the computer, but rather to use a strong vacuum cleaner with a narrow nozzle.

Quite the contrary. Compressed air is recommended as it doesn't harm your laptop. I would not recommend using a strong vacuum, but one that may be intended specifically for electronics. With a powerful vacuum you put your computer at risk of damage. This is roughly what I have been using to clean my electronics http://www.amazon.com/Metro-Vacuum-MDV3TCA-DataVac-Carrying/dp/B000OVUH30, I use it with the compressed air.

Also, a microfiber cloth and a 60% isopropyl alcohol and 40% water solution sprayed on the microfiber cloth then applying the damp cloth to your laptop works best for the surface cleaning. The best part? It beats spending money for that Monster LCD cleaner.

well when cleaning the dust outta your heat sinks i definitely recommend taking off the back cover and taking out the heatsinks to make sure u get everything removed! just blowing compressed air into the vents wont help much, but rather do more harm, as long as the laptop is still closed ;) :p

    cheers

 NEVER USE A VACUUM TO CLEAN A COMPUTER those things generate so much static your computer has about a 50% chance of biting the dust each time you do that! Really, don't scare me that way...
