Is the NP8662 with XP Pro option 32 or 64 bit? How does it compare to Vista Home Premium 64 bit? Does it drag down the GPU (260 GTX)?

I don't think anyone's had it for long enough to tell you, and XP will be rare.

I ordered my NP8662 with XP Pro SP3 (32 Bit) although it has not arrived yet. XP cost me an extra £5 to the total. I have used XP for gaming for a very long time with excellent performance, it is not too heavy on the resources but most of all, the really old games I play work better where those same games don't run well on Vista and crash.
I might give Windows 7 a try later on though but only if I upgrade my 3GB of RAM to a lot higher. -
k9hydr4, check the Benchmark Thread. Please excuse the many mistakes I have corrected.
I got mine from Xoticpc and the XP Pro they offer is 32 bit, AFAIK. Other sellers may offer more options though. Also, if I remember correctly, most folks say to skip over XP 64 and go to a Vista 64 if you really want a 64 bit OS.
If you read down, I believe Gophn implies that the performance of the GTX 260M isn't really dragged down by using XP. However, you may want to wait and see what sort of numbers people put up using Vista.
I would imagine there will be a lot more reviews and benchmarks coming out in the next couple weeks. So if you are patient and have the luxury of time, you may just want to wait a bit and see.
I am in agreement with LaptopNut too.

I'm seriously considering this w/ quad vs the OCZ Whitebook 17" and the 7808u (or simply wait til I can upgrade my 7805u to quad if/when it is supported).
How do you like the 15" with WSXGA screen? Is it enough for games?
How does the NP8662 perform with XP Pro (32/64 bit)
