I am kind of stuck between the Sager 5760 and the 9750, so I am wondering how the two processors compare. Also I have noticed that the 9750 uses 400 MHz RAM compared to 677MHz RAM in the 5760. Will this affect performance too much?

I think the T2600 is faster, I really am not sure of that. As for the ram, the extra Mhz will not show much performance since most DDR2 sticks have cas 5 latency.

The ram isn't really an issue.

The t2600 is faster. The decision makers for me were that the AMD processors are already 64 bit as well as dual core (more future proof). Also, the 9750 allows for a RAID array, which makes the harddrives faster/better.

Here, read Kilim's review of his 5760:

And here are reviews for the 9750: (Chaz'z AW m7700 is the same thing as the 9750. Both clevo d900ks)

Hey FYI the 5760 also allows for a raid array, but you loose the ODD.

The intel will be faster I also think. It's a heck of a design Intel finally came with lol. For the last like 4 years I was swearing to myself I was going AMD. And then voila, 6 weeks with a... Core Duo lol.

well you buy the best at the time. the 4800+ was the pinnacle back in Dec05 and the evolution continues. i didn't buy the amd cause of the company and if intel came out with something like merom back then, i would have bought it. i doubt i have even stressed my cpu and i know my wife isn't stressing the PM thats in her M170.

Yep, the core duo and meroms are nice. Now its up to AMD to see what they can reply with.
