    How easy is it to switch out the optical drive on the NP5792?

    thanks, I thought you just slip it out and replace it with another one.

    Could you go to a computer doctor or technician and have him do it.

    In a nutshell that is all it takes. I believe there is 1 screw that holds it to the chassis. If you are not comfortable with it you can go to a technician and have them install itl.

    Most standard Laptop Optical drives will work in the machine. You can purchase them from Sager or their resellers. (amongst many other online stores) :)

    I love the clean look and operation of slot load drives, so I bought one for my new 5793 from http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827129013. It was made by Pioneer (I've used one for 2 years in my last Sager and love it) and cost me $69. Expensive for a laptop cdrom, but the look combined with no tray to break makes it worth it.
