How fast does xotic process orders?

Hi I'm wondering how fast does xoticpc process orders for sager laptops. My problem is i want to order the np8660 or the np2096 for university, which i leave for on the 29th. If i buy the lappy with the 1-3 day express shipping today, tomorow or sunday (i assume they dont work on weekends, and it's probably too late to process the order today), will it arrive before i leave?

 

It's hard to say. If you live outside CA and order overnight shipping there's a chance you'd get it by next Friday. I think it's too late for Xotic to process your order today.

But Sager I think is a little backed up with all the WUXGA orders they need to get out on Monday. So I wouldn't bet on it.

You're probably better off ordering it once you get to college and having it sent directly there.

Or is it possible to send it to your university dorm offices instead?

 

i highly doubt that you would get the np8660 by the 29th with overnight shipping. unless you want to have it ship to your dorm then my guess it will be there at fastest 1 in a half week. But if you ordered from xotic there is live chat support or talk to justin on the forums and i'm sure you guys can have something work out.

 

i wont be getting the WUXGA model, il be getting the WSXGA so could that affect it? Yeah id get the 1-3 day no brokerage fees shipping for 110 on xotic.

I could have it sent to the dorm offices, however im not sure what the facilities is like and what will happen to the lappy, i dont want it to break.

If the package is too big to fit in the mailbox, what do they do?

PS: i live in canada, in the GTA, going to uni in ottawa (at carleton if anyone is familiar with it)

I ordered my 2096 on 8/13 and it's been in phase 2 since 8/14 so I wouldn't count on it.

 

You can alway order from Newegg. Although, their prices are almost $150.00 more + shipping + Tax in some places, but their delivery is quick!

I don't understand though, when I was in college, I did my research way in advance before the next quarter/semester started. You guys have 3 months to research! No wonder the U.S is lagging behind in education.

 

K. I've ordered from xoticpc twice and it was always quick, granted that i live in the US. The first time i ordered it took 3 1/2 day to to confirm order build and ship and put it in my hands. both times it took no longer than 4 days for the laptop to arrive to me from the day i orderd. Although i did use next day air ship for both times.

 

Im in canada, so if your trying to say something about americans, i dont really care. I was originally going to get the p-7811 from gateway that came out last week, however, i didnt know until it was actually released that it was a US only product, and no website would ship to canada that had it in stock. The only alternative was a 1hr drive to the border, paying duties, and border taxes, which brings it up to a little less then the np8 in cost, and quite a bit further behind in performance. + its bigger.

Canada UPS Express
1-3 days with normal customs clearance - No UPS Brokerage Charges
So i imagine it should be pretty fast, yes?

 

remember if you live in california you pay taxes. But they can have it where they ship your laptop to indiana then to you in california. I saved 240 dollars give or take a couple of dollars. The con on doing this you have to wait a couple of days longer in my case 5 days (i choose ground)...

I ordered my Force (same as the 2096) from them on the 14th and I am still in phase 2, so I really wouldn't count on it getting to you too quick. I think they've got alot going on right now with all the orders that have been coming in. I would look into contacting the school and seeing what the policy is on large packages. If it seems they are kept in a fairly safe place I would go on and have it shipped there. If not you may want to look into having your parents bring it to you or maybe going back home for a weekend to pick it up.

 

Yeah. I'm lucky, I don't start college till the 17th. I probably wait another week or so till I order. I'm gathering info in the meantime.

 

just fyi, i'm in Singapore and my notebook took about 2 weeks to come in after i sent payment out.. (the shipping was done in about 2-3 days, so the bulk of the days went to the building of the laptop..)

 

Exept if they build it in 3 days (minimum) and ship in within one day, maybe you'd have a chance. They take one day to process the payment. So I don't think you could get it in time.
