    Hello,

I just would like to know who a Nvidea GO8600GT in a Sager NP2090 compares to a desktop ATI X800 XT ? Which one is faster ? how big is the difference ? If it is slower, what kind of integrated laptop from sager has something as good or faster than ATI X800 XT ?

    See here:

    http://www.notebookcheck.net/Mobile...4.0.html?&or=&search=&sort=directx&type=specs

You'll notice the 8600GT down the list at position 22.

It'll do if you're gaming at lower screen resolutions (like 1280x1024 or it's widescreen equivalent) -- that's just my opinion though. The memory bandwidth (128 bit) is a limitation when pushing more pixels around.

You'll see the X800 at position 33 (29 if it's the X800GT). So the 8600GT is a bit better (if you put credence into benchmark results). However the X800 can come with a 256bit memory bus so twice the memory bandwidth.

The 8600M-GT will be around 50% faster in speed to the desktop x800XT at lower resolutions (1440x900 and below), and more so in newer games.

Ok then.... Is it possible to equip a Sager NP2090 with Go 7950 GTX?

Nope, a Go7950GXT will only fit into 17" laptops like the M570Ru or the D900c.

for future reference, keep in mind that the high end enthusiast cards will only go in 17" models due to power and heat constraints.

Since I'm purchasing my laptop next year or so, you're telling me that I will see only high-end video cards in 17' laptops. I just have a couple of questions :
-The Sager NP5790 dosen't seem to have a S-Video input for the TV Tuner. Can anyone confirm/comment on this... ?
-How much battery life can I squeeze out of the Sager NP5790 on simple tasks like word processing and such. ? (With all settings to power save and such)

That is correct, it is a CATV input. It contains a tv-tuner, not a general-purpose input grabber.

An hour and a half is about the minimum you can get out of it. It should be possible to get 2+ if you turn everything down. RMClock lets you enable deeper sleep states, and it lets you force lower P-states as well (restricting the CPU power to 50% for example).

    Sounds good enough...

OK, well I guess i'll wait and see if another laptop comes out with at least an S-Video input....
Thanks for the info guys, I'll guess I will have to wait an see what happens to these laptops in a year...
