Will i be able to upgrade the graphics card in maybe 2~3 years? will they still be using MXM III or maybe move to something else? Thanks

nobody knows for sure. but they have just recently announced MXM 3.1, but it still fits in our 3.0 slots. i think nobody even knows what type of slot clevo are using (3.0/3.1) because the visual changes are so minimal.

So i think 1 more upgrade at least is possible

another thing to consider is that newer card with newer mxm connections are likely to get smaller the way technology is heading, so you might be able to use them with adapters in older slots. thats just me speculating though, i could be completely wrong :p

Good points. I iike the idea of an adapter. :)

Something else to consider is Clevo's recent past history with the P1xxHM line and their decision to drop BIOS support on models that were a year old, so even if the GPU were upgradeable using a newer MXM interface, it might take a revision to run it. Granted, there was a petition to rally official support for the HM line so they could take advantage of the new GPU's (GTX680M comes to mind), but it goes to show that anything can happen, and futureproofing will be hard on any platform simply because the tech is advancing relentlessly.

As others have mentioned its impossible to say it hardware 2-3 years down the road will work, but it is pretty much the best notebook to have a chance at supporting them as most notebooks dont support upgrading the video card period. 2-3 years down the road top end video cards sold individually will probably cost the same as they do now, in the $500-900 price range. If spending that much on a video card most people will go with a new notebook all together to also get updated CPU, RAM, HDD etc.
