How good are the displays on these laptops in general? Good viewing angles?

    Thanks

i've had quite a few, and they have all been very good, i've also had some asus's PC's and the sagers by far have better LCDs.

I have the g73jh from best buy now, not thrilled with vertical viewing angle. thinking about returning it for a sager. Wanted to make sure I will get a better screen.

As someone who has had several Asus laptops and Sagers, Sager always has better quality parts IMO, Always. Asus is good, but they are budget Machines, and they do a damn good job at making them, but Sager does a better job, but you will pay for it.

Also the BB machines are gimped, they have the worst screen that asus makes.

I've seen the Sagers and I like them.
I have not seen a Sager matte finish screen yet.
Anyone got an opinion on one of those?

Definitely would love to hear about the matte screen especially when comparing two similar models like the NP8130 (matte) and NP8150 (glossy).

mattes are very nice especially while in the sun but are very hard to come by now a days unless the brand new models have them.

Could any of you that have matte screens (especially Sager) describe the difference between it and the glossy (especially Sager). It definitely sounds like everyone who has one likes it, but it would be good to get a better idea of why, especially if its specific to the Sager notebooks.

I don't like the $100 charge to ensure that all of the pixels work correctly on the 1920x1080 displays. it seems like a shell game. If you don't pay for it they will put one of the displays that were returned or have a few pixels blown out. I would never consider a company with this type of policy to have a good display. If its not working correctly then it should not be sold or sold as a factory second. just like every other type of product.

On the matte screens there's normally no glare, i.e. reflections from the sun, lights, etc. The glossy screens make colors pop a little more but, you tend to notice that lamp behind you , or your face, reflecting on the screen !

Yeah, not sure why glossy became the defacto standard these days. I hate them.

It happened to me on my 1920x1200 screen. I have one death pixel and three or four stuck ones. unfortunately i cannot return the laptop and the reseller is refusing to answer my mails for a year. it´s sad :(

Because the reflection makes contrast and colors looks better than they actually are. Back in the day when I worked at Staples, glossy displays started coming out and they sold as fast as we got them, because on the bright show floor they looked the best. In actuality, they were some of the worst models we had for color, contrast and angles.

I agree and it's really affecting my decision on who to buy from this week.
