I want to choose the WUXGA option for the NP8662, but the only thing that is stopping me is that it's matte only. I will be using photoshop and view blu-ray movies fairly often, so I figured the higher resolution would be good or me.
Is the matte version of this particular model comparable to glossy in terms of color and sharpness?

Might want to rethink getting the 8662 then .

I must say that I have not purchased this laptop yet but have looked into the screen glossiness. Apparently the glossy is actually annoying because if you have a light above you it reflects the light into your eyes and making some annoying glare. I assume that the matte screen has the same design as the glossy screen but higher resolution but also with an anti-glare coating on it. I have seen anti-glare coatings on alienware laptops and it should be roughly similar. They look fantastic and it is very hard to get any glare at all with the coating.

I heard that if you move your laptop screen just a little bit off angle from the light, the glare will go away.

i've got the matte screen because I wanted blu-ray in full glory...and i like it. As has been previously stated, the font size is very small in 1920x1200, but if you know how to manipulate windows and increase font sizes easily in browsers for example you can easily get around this as your activiites dictate.
How is the NP8662's matte screen?
