I am thinking about getting the Sager NP6110 / Clevo W110ER because it seems like the perfect laptop for me, except I have heard not the best things about the battery life? I will be using this laptop for school so will the battery be enough to get me through a whole day of typing at medium brightness? Also is there any possibility of Sager updating the battery performance later in the year, so should I wait to but this?
Thanks.

As per tech specs with Sager, the machine is getting 3-5 Hours of battery life. What you could do is buy an additional battery and have that as a back up charged and ready to go as well for full day usage.

As Michael said, you could probably realistically squeeze out about 3-4 hours, maybe 5, with the NP6110. How long is a "whole day" of typing? I use this computer as a student as well but I frequently don't have more than 3 hours a day of lectures and since I'm in CS (more math-oriented), it's not very effective for me to take notes with a keyboard anyway. Also, a lot of places around campus, even the lecture halls, have power outlets. This is why I don't find the battery life to be a problem, despite carrying it around everywhere.
There's a possibility that battery life will be improved later on, but probably not through hardware. Ivy Bridge duo cores which will come out later in the year should help battery life, although we don't know for sure. There's a custom BIOS mod project going on around here that may help with battery life as well.
How is the Sager NP6110 battery?
