i placed an order with them in 2011. granted, their communication is not always the fastest, but they did deliver and everything was fine :) also, ur friend should inform himself about the availability of the components he chose to include in his ordered machine. depending on if they have those components in stock or not or if there is a large backlog of orders to work through, it might just take a while until they actually ship the machine. especially now this shortly before xmas time theyre definitely gonna be very busy indeed!

Do you know what amount of build time they quoted him for the computer? This time of year most builders are taking longer then usual.

They said they need almost one moths to send the Notebook. But I have seen too much bad comments (they took 3 months or even more to send or just not send completely!)There are 2 pages complaints in 2014 and my friend has sent 3 emails to them just has got no answer! The homepage has even no telephone to make a contact!

in my case it was about three months, but that was because of the B2 motherboard revision that was faulty and thus had to be returned and revised by intel first, so there was a big recall on all sandy bridge machines before they were even available :p

I ordered there a clevo w860cu (2009 or 2010), It took a bit longer because back then a new revision with gtx 460m was released.. (And i ordered the ati 5870m) But i did get a free wifi upgrade from intel centrino ultimate 6200 to 6300 (found that out after opening the laptop :) )

Warranty there is pretty bad for an european based company.. they didnt want to repair my fan which started making noise and my battery was dieing after one year, I know this model had terrible battery life but mine was starting to inflate.. (so I fixed the fan myself with some WD40 and took out the battery cells myself too).

Changing orders was also no problem (more or less memory and such things).
Other then that, I had no serious issues with them, communication was also OK.

Hallo, chaosstorm! You said "a bit longer"but how long exactly for you from buying to get your notebook?
It sounds like this reseller is not a bad one in 2009(2010).I hope they are still the same as they were!

That was a system issue so the timing of that would not impact the machine now. He should get progress updates or a rough time frame at least. You may be better off speaking to them and asking them since they will know best.

    @ samuel03
In total it took 42 days according to my mail history.

I forgot to mention some issues though.. (just saw them again in my mail box)

    02-09-2010: I ordered the notebook.

13-09-2010: In my order the non-glare screen was not available at that time (which i of course wanted). Normally it should take 7-10 days, but they were waiting for parts.

21-09-2010: Two weeks later I wanted to change some parts (so i made a new order and mailed them that the old one should be removed).

24-09-2010: Two days after that I recieved an mail they said they shipped (the old order!).

08-10-2010: I mailed them for a track & trace number, then they found out they mixed up order numbers (at 21-09, I also changed from ati 5870 to nvidia gtx 460 and the nvidia card had a delivery time of 2 weeks)

13-10-2010: I didnt want to wait another two weeks so I mailed to cancel the order, later that day i recieved an mail that it was already shipped.

14-10-2010: I finally recieved a track & trace and the same day I got the notebook. (With the ATI which was from the old order), so.. i guess if you order something and dont change it, you should be fine.

    ------------------------

If you want to know something you should just mail them.
They usually respond the same day.
They can say, waiting for parts or give an estimated date for shipment.

yeah well, to sum it all up: deviltech is definitely not the best reseller out there, but so far people here have not had any big scandals with them either. thus theyre "ok" at best :p
