How many times did you send back your M860TU for repairs under your warranty?![]()

None, so far.
-
None, but I have intent on sending it back in July to check out my circumstance with the Intel Matrix Storage Drivers crashing my system.
What would that count as, 0 or 1? -
same here,none.
dont forget they are not a year old until august when they first started shipping.
im not saying things will go wrong as these are built like brick **** houses (in other words very strong) and imo the best laptops on the market.
thats defo counts as a 0 -
Yeah I know they are relatively new, but some may have defective GPUs or stuff like that after a month or so.

I put 0, but I will send it in eventually, as the keyboard is a bit loose, which is pretty much cosmetic/issue with two plastic tabs, so my keyboard is raised maybe 1.5mm-2mm in the middle. I'll probably inquire about hard drive temps as well. Both Deathwinger and I got early releases of the notebook (Sept or earlier, right?)

August for me. One of the first ones to get the notebook and I still love it.
Just those little issues prevent me from fully enjoying it. -
Good thing you guys took away the bad ones for us future buyers
-
Haven't sent the laptop in yet, but will send it in eventually as the keyboard is loose (similar to Tarentum's problem, just a poor design choice on how to keep a keyboard in).
-
Mine's perfect except for something I messed up (broke the CPU heatsink standoff XD)
Haven't sent it in yet, probably won't. -
The machine is a 'machine'. Hasn't been sent packing yet, though this will probably change if I can get them to give me some good prices on upgrades.
-
I had to send mine in twice. First, I bricked trying to do my first ever BIOS update. So they replaced the mobo, but forgot to plug somethin in, because it shut off after six hours of running.
Right now, my PSU is broken because this woman in my house dropped it one to many times, and I need to fill this RMA, but I haven't felt like mailing it out yet. I'm using an old adaptor from a junked laptop, whch is underpowered and isn't strong eenough for any 3D applications, but it's fine for web browsing.
I miss my games -

I'm wondering about the woman dropping the laptop too, because I'm picturing a crazy cat lady, half blind neighbor coming in, and accidentally tripping over things (which is far from the truth, I bet).
link1313: I put 3 tiny (1/4inch by 1/2inch) double sided carpet tape strips on the underside of the keyboard (actually the tape is on the chassis, then push the keyboard on), near where the tabs should hold it in. That's the temporary fix that worked for me - the keyboard is only very slightly elevated, as it's strong (but removable) tape and hasn't moved in a while. It doesn't move when I type or anything (it used to a tiny bit). Such a small issue hardware-wise and it's too bad the tabs aren't fixable at home. Why not stick with standard keyboard builds - ones that slide in, lay flat, have a few screws, not snap in, like every other notebook I've seen? -

Will my notebook survive long enough to see August of 09? Stay tuned. -
Had to return mine as I got it in the UK initially and it had overheating issues (I think they rushed putting it together to get it to me before I left the country and in the process messed up a bit) gpu went up to 97C when it was running Mark06! The vendor was nice enough to provide full refund, including the shipping costs, as I was leaving the country and would not have been able to use a warranty if something did go wrong again. Waiting for April 10th to get my hands on NP8662 now!

Long story short? There's now a thick piece of folded paper between my heatsink and the plastic panel that unscrews off my laptop to show all the components. It's rough... but hell, it works. And the only time I'm going to do anything about it is when I potentially go to upgrade my video card (they technically share a heatsink).
