    Hey Guys,

I purchased my Clevo D901c (Sager NP9261) in October 2007. I am finally looking to upgrade to a new laptop and I was wondering what you think my notebook is worth on the market nowadays. Here are the specs:

    - 17" WUXGA (1920x1200) "Super Clear Glossy" Widescreen
    - nVIDIA GeForce Go 7950 GTX w/512MB GDDR3 memory
    - Intel® Core™2 Quad Processor Q6600 2.4GHz Processor w/8M L2 Cache - 1,066MHz FSB
    - Arctic Silver 5 Thermal Compound
-4GB (2 SODIMMS) DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory (64bit Vista Required)
    - 100GB SATA/150 Hard Drive at 7,200 RPM
    - 100GB SATA/150 Hard Drive at 7,200 RPM
    - RAID 0 enabled - 2 Hard Drives
    - Combo 8x8x6x4x Dual Layer DVD +/-R/RW 5x DVD-RAM 24x CD-R/RW Drive
    - Built-in Intel® PRO/Wireless 4965 802.11a/g/n
    - Built-in Bluetooth Wireless
    - Smart Li-ion Battery (12 Cell)
    - Full Range Auto Switching AC Adapter

I must say that the notebook is in outstanding cosmetic condition - not a single scratch, dent, or any other physical flaw on it.

I was hoping to find a buyer here or elsewhere (eBay, etc). So what do you think it's worth? $800? $1000?

    Thanks for the advice!
    JP

Used laptops tend to lose value pretty quickly. While I can't give you an estimate, you may come out better off parting the laptop out.

Either way, the NBR marketplace is a good place to start as you'll get more eyes and some brand recognition there (one of the few places people go looking for used Clevo parts)

    NBR Marketplace

The Want to Buy/Price Check sub-forum xydin linked above is a good place to get an estimate on what to sell it for too.

I will likely be in a similar position to you soon. Although the chassis on my D901c is deteriorating badly - both hinges have gone, and some of the upper and lower chassis at the back around that area.

I know I'm most likely to maximize any cash value left in it selling off the individual components, rather than the whole machine. That could be an option for you too, although that's a lot of packaging and posting to do, which is a lot of hassle :) But if everything is in good shape put min offer on Ebay, if no one bites, maybe think about a hatchet job.

Looking at your config. I think the most valuable thing there is the Geforce 7950 GTX+fan+heatsink (I imagine fair few people still have old rigs with this in), then LCD screen, DVD drive, audio board, processor, wireless/bluetooth etc. Possibly the motherboard if you have the patience to remove it.
