After three and a half years with my Sager2090 i'm moving on and at the moment I have this configured:

    - Display: 17.3" FHD LED Backlit 16:9 "Glare Type" Super Clear Ultra Bright Glossy Screen (1920x1080)
    - Processor: Intel® Core™ i7-620M, 2.66-3.33GHz, (4MB L3 cache)
    - Thermal Compound: - IC Diamond Thermal Compound - CPU + GPU
    - Graphics Video Card: nVidia GeForce GTX 285M 1Gig PCI-Express GDDR3 DX10
    - Ram: ~ 4,096MB DDR3 1333MHz Dual Channel Memory (2 SODIMMS)
    - Optical Drive: ~Combo 8x8x6x4x Dual Layer DVD +/-R/RW 5x DVD-RAM 24x CD-R/RW Drive
    - Primary Hard Drive: ~ 320GB 7200RPM (Serial-ATA II 300 - 16MB Cache) -

It all seems adequate for my needs, but naturally I will be playing games and am unsure if in a year or two I'll be wishing I spent more on the processor

    thoughts?

^^^The new i7-740QM is just a little more and would be a good investment, imo. :)

yup i'd go for the Quad Core processor, will probably last you as long as you did with your sager 2090.

I'd opt for the Quad Core as well, you'll welcome the power in some games. BTW, your FL90 lasted 3 1/2 years without the 8600M GT breaking down? Must be a new record!
Anyway, I'd probably wait for the GTX 460M / 470M to come out before I decide which GPU to get for that laptop.

You should go for the Core i7 740-QM CPU.
