here is a simple guide of how i add the xbox 360 receiver to my laptop
since mine don't have the TV card i have two extra Mini pci-e slots that's why i find this a practical solution

to do this you need a Mini pci-e to usb adapter like this mini PCI-e to SATA USB SSD Adapter for Dell mini EEEPC - eBay (item 350374730408 end time Jul-25-10 08:12:41 PDT)
and a wireless Xbox360 receiver for pc like this Xbox 360 Wireless Gaming Receiver for Windows( white) - eBay (item 270611513761 end time Jul-29-10 13:23:56 PDT)

you also need soldering gun and a little skills,i tough the Mini pci-e adapter provides 5v to usb but is not true you need to get the power from the motherboard
but you don't want to solder nothing to your motherboard well get the power from the missing fan plug on the motherboard right by the cpu all you need is a fan connector
and don't worry that provides 5v all the time that plug is not controled by the cpu. temp.
here is a screenshoot of the job and is working perfect :)
