Hi there I bought Clevo P170HM from European reseller but unfortunately it has no WiFi module inside. I bought separately Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6230 Wlan module but i don't have any installation guide. I found out only that the module must be installed under the keyboard. Only how to remove the keyboard without damaging it? What about antennas for WiFi are there inside ?

    Thx in advance for help.

was it meant to come with wifi or did you ask to not have one included.
i would get in contact with the reseller and ask advice from them as i know nothing about the wifi and where it sits. you could cause damage if your not sure how to install it.

P170HM came with no wifi module installed (by default). But reseller has an option to install it (customization of order). Thanks

how old is it. not sure how long they give but you should be able to return it and ask for a wireless card to be installed.
first reseller that ive seen that offers a computer without any wireless card.

That's... really weird. You usually get a "Internal 802.11 B+G+N Wireless LAN + Bluetooth Combo Module" even directly from sagernotebooks as a default device. I think eurocom is the only other company I know to default wireless cards to none. (Without asking for it directly to an reseller anyway.)

I have it 2 days I called to them and they told me that it is possible to install it manually without losing guarantee. But they didn't mentioned about how to disassembly the keyboard. I know its strange that they by default no give any wlan module.

htwingnut -> Are you sure that by default they are giving stock generic wi-fi card? Becouse on Clevo site: CLEVO - Products there is written that any WLAN module is factory option :(

The other question is if you don't opt for the card, is the wiring there?

The Wiring will be there as it is fed into the lid behind the screen, All the G170s (P170) that I have seen have come with a cheap ol wifi card in them, we remove them by default as they are rubbish and either install a 6230 or a 6300

They prob just removed it as the OP didnt want to pay extra for one.

The video posted by HT shows the hole you need to put the screwdriver to pop out the panel but it's not 100% accurate for the NP8170. That little screen that comes off on the NP8150 isnt what pops off on the NP8170. Instead it's the panel directly below it.
