Hi, it seems like the GFX card in my Clevo has some problems (see signatur for specs). I was going for a little sleep and when I came back I saw my laptop flimmering really weird as soon as I logged into my user account. After 10 seconds a blue screen followed. I disconnected the 2nd screen and restarted Win7. So far everything worked fine until I started a game. Completely pink screen and flimmering again.

Any way to check if it's a hardware or software fault?

    Thanks

@edit: A lot of flimmering/spikes with "nvidia driver has stopped working and recovered" messaged followed by a blue screen. Seems like this only happend when using FullHD / smth gfx intensive. Atm in safe-mode with 1280x720 without any problems.

"WhoCrashed" won't show me any logs :S

for the blue screen download who crashed in my sig below. that normally shows if its a driver or hardware fault.
no idea about the pink screen. have heard of various colours being reported that was as far as i can remember the nvidia driver.

have you update the gpu driver yet and if so did you do an auto update or a manual safemode install.

I use WhoCrashed.. seems like it couldn't show any logs due to my paging file being disabled. I just changed that and let's see.

Uhm I haven't update it yet. Should I do the automatic one?

Just weird that this problem suddenly is here.. didn't do any updated or anthing.

Try removing and re-installing your drivers to see if that will help, if you haven't already done so.

Have you had any Windows updates recently?

If the driver re-installation doesn't fix it and you are still experiencing the same issues, I think it would be safe to assume your GPU has failed.

I hope you are still under warranty if that is the case.

Also, how often do you blow the dust out of your rig?

Try running some kind of benchmark or so (this might break it if something is wrong.. if not everything should run smooth as always)

    :)

Curse you for suggesting what I should have thought of! :p +rep when the system allows me to.

After trying the driver re-installation, try running Furmark for 10 minutes (DO NOT run it any longer than that) and see where your temps stand and if you are still getting the same issues.

    No Windows updates
No GFX Updates (well I just did)
Yes I check for dust but the laptop is only 6 months old and no overheating occured so far. Also just blew some air inside the fan with my mouth. A bit of dust came out of the fan but not much.

Well I did an update and it seems like everything is working so far.

Did a 3dmark06 benchmark (the first 2 gfx tests) which took like 5 mins at the max. temp was 83 Celsius. Too bad I can't log into Diablo 3 atm.. so what I will do now is to play a few rounds of Quakelive to see if the temps are fine. So far no errors. 2nd screen is not connected yet.

Thanks for your help guys !

Don't know if this is helpful, but I've had the "pink screen" issue (sometimes it recovered, sometimes needed a reset) happen to me as well recently this year on my desktop running a 560ti card. Apparently it was an issue with the latest Nvidia drivers and a downgrade solved the issue...

No idea what fixed the problem. Since the driver worked fine for 6 months I can't believe the driver update was the solution.

In any case everything seems to work now :)

Highest GPU temps (with Diablo 3 running at highest settings + Quakelive) = 92 Celsius.

    Thanks guys !
