I'm a bit confused. I currently have IME version 9.1.26.1006. I'd like to downgrade to version 9.0.31.1487 to regain the ability to OC using BCLK.

I read on prema's site that in order to downgrade, one should flash the his modded bios again. Is this accurate? Can I not use the ME_9.0.31.1487 flasher he has on his site to downgrade?

Which version of the IME is included in the v2 bios mod? I can't find that information.

Thanks for the help in advanced!

Mixing firmware can potentially cause issues especially while downgrading, going to his BIOS means you get a matching set of firmware and can be sure how the system will respond.

Yes to downgrade you need to use the flash package...the other utility only updates portions and can't downgrade the ME.

    Thanks for the replies.

So I re-flashed Prema's v2 bios and it doesn't seem like it updated the IME firmware version. It's still at 9.1.26.1006 after the flash.

    EDIT: BIOS

You need to flash the BIOS Mod package, the vBIOS has nothing to do with the ME... ;)

Wow, you have amazing attention to detail. I didn't even see the v in vBIOS.

Sorry, I mistyped. I did indeed flash the v2 BIOS Mod package - not the vbios and the IME firmware was not reverted.

What version of the IME firmware is included in your v2 bios mod?

I've never had my ME downgrade when I've flashed a different BIOS, even a stock Clevo.

When you are working on all of these files you have to be really clear with people which you mean otherwise it gets really confusing ;)

Have you ever been able to safely downgrade your ME by a different means?

I haven't tried. It's not worth the potential for turning my machine into a paperweight.

maybe there is a key in bat file to be added for flashing ME?

A lot of motherboard manufacturers block downgrading, even the enthusiast boards, because you can brick the motherboard if your BIOS doesn't support the ME version you are installing. ASUS is one manufacturer that does this and they are definitely a lot more open than Clevo. I wouldn't mess with it just for BCLK adjustment. Intel has official tools that can be used to force a downgrade but there is no guarantee that it won't break your system so you will have to find them yourself. Just keep in mind the 350-400 dollar charge to replace a fried motherboard.

OK just double checked. I never supported BCLK OC on the P3xxSM- A because of major instability in the SLI models. Even in beta testing it couldn't reach more than 101-102Mhz, so no loss there.
Hence the included Me Firmware in the Mod is also 9.1 and not 9.0.

Thanks for clearing that up. If it really was that unstable, then yeah there's no real point.

I like being able to do .5mhz base clock adjustments for clock purposes but the performance impact is certainly not huge.
