Laptop card is dying and I need a replacement but the Xoticpc customer support is dismal. They just said The Part was all gone... and that's it. I guess they think I'll buy another computer from them or something if they refuse to help fix the one I got.

Anyway, I don't know my model number, or the card specs, in order to track down a new card. How can I see on the laptop what model it is, please? Also, does anyone have a supplier for it's graphics cards? The one that came with it is a 5800 mobility.

    Thank you.

Hello, Sorry to hear about your issues. I'm guessing that Sager no longer produces the GPU's for your model and that is the reason for the issue. If you PM me your email address that you ordered it under I can find out for you.

I would suggest looking into Eurocom. They should have the GPU you want and they would likely be willing to install it for you if you wanted them to.

They are correct, that generation of card is no longer produced.

The model can be found in the bios, the mainboard tab in CPU-Z is pretty good too.

What Xotic and Meaker said is accurate - and because it has been out of production for quite awhile, procuring a replacement may be difficult, as so few good/working cards are in circulation anymore.

The "Main" BIOS screen will tell you info about the computer (it should show the model). Your reseller should be able to pull up a copy of your invoice also and provide info about your model.

Best of luck! I don't know of any specific vendors you can go to, so hopefully you find at least a trustworthy, private party that has the card.

Thanks, all. GPU completely gone now it seems but I may be able to access bios. Thanks for the tip.

Alex, I am pming you the info yo requested. Thank you.

I plan to contact Clevo directly, and will try Eurocom, once I discover the model and gpu connection and rated gpu models.
