I have a Sager NP9150 running Windows 7 64-bit. As far as I know there's only one driver on the web for this.(also I can't use the CD anymore as it's been scratched) You can get the driver here: http://www2.sagernotebook.com/pages/notebooks/download.cfm?ProductType=9150

I've been installing the x86 drivers instead of the x64. Is it supposed to automatically detect that my system is 64-bit? When I go to the folder that says x64 there is an application in it, but double clicking it doesn't do anything (nor does running it as admin).

Maybe these images will help with diagnosing the problem: http://imgur.com/a/SR8J8

I'm just not really sure how to get it to install the 64-bit version. I also tried copy/pasting the contents of the 64bit version into the 07USB30 folder, figuring that would replace the DIFxAPI.dll file.

If it's this driver; ' USB 3.0 Driver for Windows 7 32/64 BIT v1.0.3.214' then the setup.exe would normally figure that out by itself.

    Tried a manual install via 'Device Manager'? Unzip the .exe and either;
    1. Browse to the x64 iusb3hub.inf and right click -> install
    2. Use 'Update Driver ...' -> 'Browse my computer ...' > 'Let me pick ...' -> 'Have disk ...' -> 'Browse' to point to the expanded folder that has the x64 iusb3hub.inf:

    Thanks for the response!
The first method tells me that "the INF file that you selected does not support this method of installation." For the second method, which driver do I update? There are two USB Root Hubs listed and two USB Enhanced Host Controllers

Both; so 2x hub point to iusb3hub.inf and 2x ehc point to iusb3hc.inf. Think this is because it does, in fact, have two hubs; the combined eSATA/USB might be separate from the 2x USB 3.0.

I believe the EM used a third party chipset for the usb 3.0 as intel did not natively support in yet so there are a few devices to deal with.

The HM77 chipset used in P1x0EM Clevos does natively support USB3.0.

No third party controllers are visible in the Device Manager.

Indeed, it was the HM that used HM67 without native USB 3.0, I got the chipset generation off by one *oops*. In that case has the OP tried the latest chipset/USB3 driver set from Intel?

Good idea; driver from Sager's site is v1.0.3.214 (sept. 2012), whereas Intel's latest is v1.0.10.255 (febr. 2014). Would at least expect the regular setup.exe to function as it should ...

Using your method involving Update Driver, etc. led it to telling me that "the driver is not intended for this platform."

Also the Intel driver led to the same problem...

    That is rather odd ...

Please check 'Device Manager' -> 'Properties' -> 'Details' -> 'Hardware Ids':

We're looking for the VID and PID numbers, that will tell you exactly which Vendor and Product it is. Also, just to be certain; anti virus off and files on local drive? Hmm ... and the hub might be powered off (to conserve power), normally the installer ought to wake it, but still ... try ' Disable' -> ' Enable' in Device Manager prior to running the installer.
