If I want to update the BIOS on my Sager 5760 do I need to get in touch with Sager tech support first? Does anybody know what the latest BIOS version for the 5760 is? (I'm currently running 5.71.22.26.12, which is dated 05/23/06).

The reason I ask is because I'm trying to get the Intel 3945 wifi card working in Ubuntu linux, but having some difficulty. So as a last resort I'm considering a BIOS update.

Yes, email tech support and they will send you the BIOS update. Ask about whether you have the latest version.

is there a later version of the BIOS available? if so, what benefits does it have? i probably won't update BIOS unless it has some advantage for me. when it comes to BIOS, i take a "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality
