So I'm trying to get a laptop for linux with a GeForce video card without Optimus. I've been having extreme difficulty finding laptops that have an option in the BIOS to select which GPU to use or disable Optimus or to even find laptops that come shipped with the iGPU disabled. The ASUS RoG line of laptops has iGPU disabled and I've heard of some Dell or Lenovo laptops offering an option in the BIOS, but nothing for Clevo.
I've contacted by phone, ProStar, Power Notebooks, XoticPC and M-Tech laptops who have all confirmed for me that it is not possible for them and have given me a fairly thorough and consistent explanation of why it is not really an option for Clevo laptops. If anyone knows how it could be achieved to have a Clevo laptop with a dedicated graphics card and have only the dedicated card's GPU on, I would love to know how. Using Optimus in linux is just... less than desirable. Thanks

You have to opt for one of the SLI laptops like the NP9380/9390 (P370SM3/P375), but order just a single card. Intel GPU is not accessible or active at all on those machines.

Or an older HM series laptop

Any current Clevo that supports SLI will have the iGPU completely disabled. So in your case you could get a SLI capable system and install only 1 graphics card.

It's those models or nothing since It's a hardware decision by clevo and no one can change that.
so 370 or 570 series for current models. -
Ask your distro's devs why the Bumblebee packaging is still having issues.
