Just like the thread title says. Could someone give some recommendations for resellers that ship the Sager NP-5320 to Australia? I'm having a hard time finding them, so any help is appreciated.

    Thanks

I don't think it's possible, mate. I contacted them for Malaysia, they are willing to send, but for the delivery fee, and IF there are any defects, you would probably have to fork out an amount equal to what you pay FOR the notebook to get it repaired. Not exactly worth it.

Yeah, I'm not sure if you can get it - I don't think any of the US-based dealers would send a notebook there. If you happen to find anything, let us know. ;)

I contacted Sager directly, they would send, PCTorque also would send, but in case there is a defect, you will have to pay for shipping both ways, one repair would cost about $500 for Malaysia (about $250 per trip). I guess it would not differ much in Australia. We are pretty close by. So unless you plan to have a month long holiday in the states, really not worth buying... Since there are stories of defects being pushed around over and over.

    Cost for shipping is $250

Ahh, I see. Thanks for the info Ardor. These really do look like great notebooks, so it's a shame they can't be found within Australia.

If I were to buy one from PcTorque, what would be the differences between that and one that would be sent by Sager. Some kind of cooling solution perhaps? I've got my Dell desktop right next to me (8300) and i've got 2 browsers open and playing some music, and the fan noise can be heard all the way on the other side of the house. So this would be very important to me.

It's the exact same laptop, only that the resellers have a better customer service...

Cool. Might think about getting mine from PcTorque then, but it's still early days yet. Gotta keep saving up money.

Thanks for your advice everyone ;)

yeah, a lot of resellers sell the same laptop (NP5320) under the original ODM name Clevo M560A. For non-us buyers its best to try and find some sellers in your own country, as that would help a lot to keep cost of repairs/shipping down.

How did you find that? When they say barebones, does it mean only the chasis and the LCD without a motherboard, GPU, RAM etc?

Barebones means that it comes with the Chassis, motherboard, display, etc. It does not come with RAM, a hard drive, processor, wireless card, nor operating system.

Comes with everything but what I posted above. It should come with the GPU - however, be careful with the MXM/AXIOM notebooks. Those GPU's are removable/upgradeable. Make sure they are included.
