Hey everyone,
First, I'm new to the forums. I've read them a lot though so, hi.
I am wanting to order a np5790/m570ru asap, but want to find the cheapest deal humanly possible. I am willing to install any parts necessary.
The only things I need built in at minimum are the 1920x1200 uxga screen and the 7950gtx.
I am wanting the 2.0ghz t7300 (but if I can get some kind of great deal I'd be willing to step up to the 2.2 t7500), 2gb 667 ram, the standard 8x DL DVDRW drive that comes in all of them, a 160gb 5400rpm hdd, 4965agn, and possibly a tv tuner. No need for bluetooth.
The cheapest places I have been able to find are powernotebooks, rjtech, and eurocom, but there are problems with all of them for me.
RJTech will sell the barebones, but forces me to get bluetooth and charges 45 dollars extra for wireless N over BG (and I would prefer no bluetooth or abg, and just get the 4865 card for 43 dollars elsewhere, but neither of these is an option).
The others will not sell it without a hard drive or memory, and I can get both much cheaper elsewhere, like 90 dollars for the hard drive and 80 for the memory...It would be samsung memory, which I would swap out for the 2gb micron I have in my current laptop...then I'd sell this laptop.
And powernotebooks is overall just a bit more expensive than the others.
So my questions are:
Is there anywhere that will sell me a true barebones with only a screen and vid card?
Is there anywhere I could buy the TV Tuner cheaper and install it myself (not worried about figuring it out; I'm confident)?
Will an expresscard TV Tuner I can get for 20 bux work just as well?
Where is the cheapest place to get a t7300 or t7500 (cheaper than newegg?)?
Will anyone sell me the barebones with no screen which I would then install myself (again, I've done this before, but it might not be cheaper anyway...I can get the uxga screen for $300, where most places charge 200-250 just to upgrade).
If it seems like I am nitpicking, I am, but I want to pinch every penny as I'll be buying anything over 1450 of this on credit, and while paying it off as quickly as possible is a priority, anything I save will help immensely.
Plus I'm just cheap.
(Oh, and can I get it with any trim besides orange yet? If not, no big deal. And I'm willing to go with Sager or Clevo branded, doesn't matter in the least. And I have no customer loyalty to anyone at this point as I've never used any of them).
Thanks for any help I may receive,
Ezra Patterson
P.S. I'm selling my compal hgl30, t2500 2.0ghz, 2gb 667ram, 120gb 5400rpm hdd, 8x DL dvdrw...it's in perfect condition except the top is scratched up a bit. I also did the keyboard mod with a metal bar so the keyboard has no flex and is super sturdy. I will post in the Compal thread, but if anyone has ideas of where to sell or if you want to buy, message me. I'm hesitant to sell it on ebay since barely anyone knows about brands like compal and sager and I may just lose a ton of money...but I am willing to sell it for fairly cheap compared to how good it is.

What I'm understanding about you not liking R&J Tech is that sell barebones...but because they won't take out the bluetooth it's not a true barebones system? I'm pretty sure they are as close to a bare bones m570ru as you'll be getting.

Nah, it's not all that bad. Just that I want wireless N without paying 45 dollars, when in reality the chip is only worth 40, and I'm giving up the abg card too, when most of the the resellers come w/ N standard. I'm starting a new thread with more relevant questions.

You have to keep in mind though, that most resellers give you the wireless standard, and charge 45 for the bluetooh...Maybe it's different for the m570ru, but I know several other models are that way.

RJtech is selling the np5790 for $1339. You can't find a better deal than that.
-
And... I've yet to see cheaper than newegg... You're pretty much hitting the floor with newegg
. Is it a question of budget? I mean 45$ when you spend 1500$ is not that much...

Just my two cents.
