Them HDMI port on the D900F are for output signals only ...

I was wondering if there is such a thing as a ExpressCard HDMI Input card ???

Else the only other way is to get a TV/Video Tuner Card

Anyone knows what is the best way around this ???

    thanks

You want to play your PS3, using the D900F as a monitor? Not possible.

It is possible but it isn't going to look good or playable due to the lag.

Buy a TV tuner and connect your PS3 to the TV tuner input.

I seem to have found a product that does this ...

The "AVerTV Hybrid NanoExpress HC82R" ...

It comes with a special software plug-in that allows the user to attach a gaming system to it and run with out any lag ...

A quote from their website - "Also, AVerMedia’s exclusive Vista MCE Video Gaming Plug-in can synchronize the video and audio of video games on Vista MCE, allowing users to build up a Home Theater PC with more versatile entertainment."

To confirm this - I have sent an inquiry to the AverMedia Tech Support in USA - They replied - "You can use this tuner to connect your Sony PS3 to play games via our unique software “Gaming Plug –in” that we included with this card".

So my question is this - has anyone tried this combo and does it works ???

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815100036

I did a search and found that a user from Newegg has this to say - "Pros: Everything works amazing!!! Can play my xbox 360 on my laptop screen without lag, hooked my cable tv up. Saved me tons of money!! Can change settings to get best picture. Running on Vista 32bit. Works amazing with vista mce-can pause and rewind live tv."

The AverMedia Hybrid Nano is a fantastic TV Tuner card, and probably one of the few decent chances for playing a game system without lag, but given that it uses a software solution to cut out lag, there is always a chance that something will cause lag in the software.

There is no perfect solution for playing a game system through a computer, but this should be workable, at least, and it will also let you use your notebook to watch TV, which could be a bonus, since it sounds like you're trying to replace a TV if you need to run the PS3 through your notebook :).

    Hi Mr. Thanatos ...

    :)

erm, you mention "one" of the few decent chances ... as you put it ...

would you like to share the "rest" of the other chances for playing ps3 games on a laptop with us ???

    :D

Well when you go to the newegg website click on " similar products" you get a couple of more choices from Hauppuage and 1 more from AverMedia.
Not sure how well the others work but this is interesting.
Too bad they are out of stock with AverTV nano hybrid express card.
