Hi, i'm want to buy this notebook but i have a big doubt.

I would like a dual boot xp32 and vista64, but the BIOS is a bit special (you must select first in the bios the O/S that you go to install...)

    In the manual says:

    SATA Mode Selection (Advanced Menu)
This menu is only available if you select the Vista O/S as your operating system.
You can configure SATA (Serial ATA) control to operate in either IDE (native/
compatible) or AHCI (Advanced Host Controller Interface) modes from this menu.
The SATA mode should be set to AHCI mode for this system (unless you are sure
your hard disk can only operate in IDE mode). If you are unsure of the mode your
hard disk supports contact your service center. Note that the SATA mode should be
set to AHCI to support eSATA port hot-swapping.

Well if i choose in the options the XP then the SATA MENU isn't available.
Then how can i install XP in AHCI mode for after make a DUAL BOOT with VISTA.
Maybe choosing VISTA and AHCI in the BIOS but installing XP with the F6 key and the AHCI drivers? (I don't know if this works).

I'm sure that someone have this notebook with this DUAL BOOT, please help me and tell me how can i make this works, i really need to install both S/O in AHCI mode.

    TIA. ;)

Welcome to the NBR forums. :)

Firstly, I believe you must disable the Turbo Memory in the BIOS if you are installing XP.

Secondly, I guess you never installed XP with SATA/RAID devices yet.... you need to either (1) use have a floppy with the SATA/RAID drivers, or (2) slipstream the SATA/RAID drivers into your XP CD with a simple program like nLite

Then after XP is installed, then you can boot up with the Vista disc and it will create a dual boot menu for you. :)

    Hi, thanks for the welcome...
Firstly, I don't see in the Bios of this notebook has the Turbo Memory option, but if i have Turbo Memory, is a problem for install XP?, and for use DUAL BOOT Vista will use this memory...

Secondly, i know how install XP in SATA devices, my Desktop pc is a SATA with XP, the problem is with this notebook (M570TU) and his special BIOS (i attach a capture). There is an option that you must select the S/O that you want install, and if i choose XP the SATA MENU ISN'T AVAILABLE, so i don't know if choosing VISTA (so i can get the SATA MENU) i can install XP...

I hope a solution, someone with this notebook and DUAL BOOT help me!!!

    TIA

I think you should just switch the SATA mode to IDE mode and install XP first.

Then switch it back to AHCI after its been fully installed... XP might ask for SATA drivers after switching it back to AHCI mode... be sure to have them for XP to load up.

then install Vista after that to create the Dual Boot.
