Could try this (see here for a bios copy). If that fails then you need a programmer and either flash in situ using a clip (ISP) or desolder first, program and then resolder.

Service manual claims a separate eeprom for bios and me, but that isn't always accurate. Check its size first by looking at the chip's markings; if it's **32** then you need to use the 'W650SJ.03' file (for both usb and programmer method), matching the 32Mbit eeprom (/8 = 4MB). For a **48** model it's the 'W650SJ6M.03' file you want (bios+me combined). Substitute '03' for the version you want to flash, of course.

For the future, consider buying one of these thingies:

Got a lifetime supply since shipping was something crazy like $60 or so. These won't work for vbios eeproms without some modding since these are only 150mil wide. Didn't have any luck finding a 150mil model, btw.

Looks fine. Don't forget to copy the beep.bat to the stick, otherwise you'd never know it even booted to the usb stick.

    edit:
Forgot; there's also the 'AUTOAFUF' folder to check up on that. It's mainly the second beep-beep-beep that is interesting.

IIts not looking like its responding keyboard...

It turns on..then after a minute 3 lights starts to blink on the numlock state then the fan starts to run louder and it resets...it happens even when there is no pendrive inside.

Err ... you have me confused by now, but let's straighten this out:
    • It's a 32Mbit/bios + 16Mbit/me system.
    • You flashed a modified 32Mbit bios and bricked it.
    • You blind-force-flashed a 48Mbit/me+bios to the 32Mbit/bios eeprom.
    Is that correct?

Afudos should have recognised the combined binary and flash only the bios (that's what the /ME switch is for). It never got to that part, though; from the symptoms it became unbootable right after the flashing the modified bios.

There's really no way to software flash a system bricked like this. Could envelope-ship you a pre-flashed chip, but you'd need a decent soldering iron or hot air gun (this is easier) or access to a shop that has one. A smartphone repair shack might be a good place to check out.

Only if it supports SPI (at 3.3V), it won't work if it's solely UART.

That programmer is fine; 24xx means it can handle I2C protocol and 25xx indicates ISP. For software you can use Ch341Prog or chavrprog. Haven't used either of them though, but there should be some basic instructions floating around.

Take care that the alligator clip does not always work for every eeprom due to the specific way the chip is soldered to the motherboard. With other configurations you may need to desolder first or short a particular pin or two. That also means soldering the SOP8 chip to the SOP->DIP breakout board (and its two rows of DIP pins). Btw, it is always a good precaution to remember the orientation of pin #1 before desoldering, but with this system (as with all Clevos) that is superfluous since #1 is marked on the board by the thick, white stripe (this is not true for all brands/systems, to be sure).

Well it has arrived! i tried soldering the bios chip into the ch341A adapter and no lucky, the bios reads, erases but i cant program, it says" time out"

I was able to flash other chips from failed boards just to test and they all go ok!

Is there any kind of lock on this chip or any procedure that i should use? or special software to flash on windows?

If you have another 32Mbit+ 200 mil SOP8 chip from another board then simply write that one and resolder it. Only thing that matters is that it is a ~3V SPI eeprom with sufficient storage size, the pin-out being identical for almost every chip of this type and those that are not are backwards compatible.

That 25B32BSIG seems to be pretty rare; no specification sheet anywhere. Without one it's hard to tell what specific hook-up it needs, but likely you need to either short the HOLD pin (#7) to ground or put a small-current 3V voltage to it in order to flash. Same thing for the WP-pin.

Well my friend i have bought 3 chips. them all 25x32 and 3.3V

recorded them all and still same problem, i was able to flash the bios into them but the laptop turns on, black screen, and then after 30 seconds it turns off and reboots.

i have also replaced the Me chip and flashed intel me firmware into it... Still no lucky =((

any tips? i think i may be missing something!

The file W650SJ.06 have 4mb and is the one that fits the bios chip and its the one i flashed!

the other file is W650SJ6M.06 wich is 6mb and wont fit the chip that came with the laptop. but i was also ready to try it too and tried, of course that when its flashed the laptop dies.

So we flashed back the w650sj.06 and the same symptoms are back, lights up, black screen, after 20 seconds it turns off.

    On the Me chip we flashed 9.1.37.1002_1.5MB_PRD_RGN.bin (1,5mb) this chip have only 2mb flash area;

Whats wrong? isnt it okey? why i still have black screen?

    Still no solution!

Just to rule out a mismatch revert to an earlier version; flash W650SJ. 03 to the bios eeprom and the first 2MB of W650SJ6M.03 to the me eeprom (trim/hex-edit everything after hx00200000).

Now, after resoldering do make sure to measure all eight pins with a multimeter, most likely the cause is simply a bad solder joint. Keep one pointer on the pad and the other to the 'knee' of the eeprom and measure its resistance, the value of all sixteen pins should be close to zero:

Also helps to dollop all pins with a bit of extra solder after it's been soldered in place. Getting the right amount of solder is tricky, so use cutters or scissors to trim off a batch of little ends from the solder spool in advance and dab them up with the tip of the heated iron. A bottle of pcb cleaner is a nice-to-have, but it isn't stricktly necessary.

Wait wait, the trick is the trim that u mentioned, how do i trim it on ch341A programmer? Shouldnt the 2mb chip get only intel firmware? Can u please detail it a little bit? i think thats the mistake i made.

The eeprom is soldered just fine

No, not when flashing straight with a programmer. That is 1:1 business; the programmer couldn't care less as to what you're flashing to the eeprom.

First wipe the chips (write all FFs) and then flash the 'part1' binary to the me eeprom and the 'part2' to the bios, if you haven't already:
W65xSJ bios, ec and me v1.03.03.7z

Which model and which bios and ec versions? If these were stock versions then you should probably have read the readme (not all is lost):
Could still attempt the rest of the steps, presuming you can still access the bios menu?

Unlike other brands, with Clevo it's pretty simple. Open both the M and non-M binary in a hex editor and scroll down one-third of the M file and things should be clearer; the 'M' really is just a combined me+ec+bios, in that order and appended end-to-end without any fluff.

HxD and UltraEdit on Windows and wxHexEditor on Linux. First and last one can edit disks and RAM directly. This is neat because you can use it in conjunction with a debugger (such as WinDbg) to intercept and change in-memory data in an installer, thereby tricking it into thinking it's running on a different system or one that has supposedly non-compatible hardware (side-stepping whitelisting/look-up tables).
