How to safely undervolt gtx 1080 on windows 7/bios eurocom sky x4c

I ve seen multiple threads of gpu tools bricking the edid and thats how i lost my old laptop, so
i would like to ask if there is a safe way to undervolt the gpu in the bios and windows 7 without the edid brick risk.
This is meant for the eurocom sky x4c with the 144hz panel.

You can't brick your rig with undervolting. Try to use MSI Afterburner and edit the curve to undervolt your 1080.

Thanks for the advice, i also only undervolted in the evga tool and it bricked it.
Did you do this also on your maschine and it was safe?

 

What tool exactly and how? It should not be capable of bricking it, something else may have happened instead.

 

Try a cmos reset and never set an unstable setting at startup. This often causes problems. I undervolted pascal gpus several times now and everything was fine. How should a gpu get bricked if it just gets less power . It just gets too less power to work in a proper way. Does the bricked device shows any kind of life?

It damaged the edid. And also the uefi vars and i had csm disabled which means cheat to get past post.
its dead for real it beeps cmos is removed and still doesnt post beeps for gpu fault while its confirmed working if i bypass that it will just beep cpu is faulty which is confirmed to work etc..

It wasnt a clevo it was an late 2k12 early 2k13 alienware, here s the thread

the bios cant be reset with fn + f5 and cmos removed.
Its just that windows 10 + evga bricks the maschine completly if csm is disabled, happens to a lot of maschines from that time(some samsung laptops).

I had it stable uv with nvidia inspector and this tool wasnt update since 2016 so it wont work on the 1080.
Now im using windows 7 and some drivers like the wifi just dont work its ok as long my maschine doesnt brick since to get warranty would be impossible anyways(maschine just is dead).
@Meaker@Sager do you know if msi afterburner is safe to use with an coffelake clevo?

 

That's bricking the display via edid not impacting the gpu.

MSI afterburner is fine.
