    When trying to change volume using hotkeys it minimizes literally every game I've tried. It crashes some of them.

    Sick of that shiz already.

    Is there a way to turn that volume graphic pop-up off, 'cause I have a feeling that is what's causing games to minimize.

    I believe simply stopping the hotkey program from starting at boot should fix it.

    Start > type "msconfig", enter > startup > untick the "hotkey" box, ok > restart.

    They should still function as intended, but you shouldn't get the popup when you use them. You could also uninstall it, but I'm not sure they'd still work then.

    I've never had a game minimize due to hotkeys. Is that just an NP8150 thing?

    Doesn't seem normal, and I haven't read anyone else saying it happens.

    I've had it happen on my P150HM at home, though not on many games. Only a select few seem to have any issue with those hotkeys. 99% of them don't have any issue at all.

    I don't think it's specific to that model, but can happen on any model with those hotkey drivers on certain games.

    That fixed it, thanks. But now I don't have that system tray icon where I can switch between performance profiles. Can I access those profiles elsewhere?

    You'd have to enable the hotkey drivers again by manually starting them (so that the tray icon will show up again). You can always exit it or turn it off when you're done. It's unfortunate that the two features are together in the same application.

    It might be easy to put a couple batch scripts on your desktop:

    hotkeystart.bat
    Code:
    @echo off
    "C:\Program Files (x86)\Hotkey\Hotkey.exe"

    hotkeystop.bat
    Code:
    @echo off
    tskill Hotkey.exe

    Just double-click the batch file and it will automatically run. Use them like shortcuts. Once the hotkey program starts you can get to the performance profiles. :)

    This happens to me sometimes on my NP8170- I always just restart my laptop, and the issue goes away

    In what games does it usually happen?

    ^ Fallout 3, Mass Effect 2, Deus Ex HR. When Hotkey isn't loaded it doesn't minimize and the volume works fine.

    map new keys to volume control.

    I don't use the right alt or context menu keys so they became volume up and down for me.

    It's weird I've played all of those recently, and never have had it happen.

    I guess I get lucky. The only thing I have disabled is the Windows key.

    I like this idea very much, as it's kind of cumbersome to adjust the volume with a two-keystroke. How do you remap those two keys?
