    Hi All,

Today i had delivered a nice shiny new OKUK Limited Edition P170EM with I7 3630Q, 7970M, 8GB mem and Samsung 250gb SSD.

Now i spent a heck of a lot of money (for me anyway) on this build to be used primarly for the latest games so I want it singing to its highest tune :D

Can anyone recommend anyway of telling if i have all the drivers and setup to work as they should do? Mainly interested in the GPU and to spot any faults with drivers, optimization etc.

I tried Tomb Raider on full setting minus tress and its about 60fps but when i looked at GPU-Z s/w it said my 7970 only had a clock speed of 300mhz and the Intel had 650mhz! Am i doing something wrong here?

I installed all the drivers first, restarted, intel, restarted, clevo ati drivers, restarted and lastly 13.1 ATI drivers, restarted.

Any guidance would be greatly appreicated

You can run some benchmark programs like 3D mark as see if your'e getting number around what other people with the 7970M are getting. Its hard to tell by looking at FPS in a game.

P6391 with AMD Radeon HD 7970M(1x) and Intel Core i7-3630QM Processor

    Graphics Score 6485
    Physics Score 6478
    Combined Score 5664

Would that suggest everything is fine and dandy? Sorry new to this :(

    edit:

Graphics Card AMD Radeon HD 7970M

    2,048 MBCore clock

    300 MHz Memory clock

    150 MHzDriver name

AMD Radeon HD 7970MDriver version 9.12.0.0Driver statusFM Approved

Still showing as 300mhz, is this a bug in 3dmark?

    ouch! that hurts.
things to check... make sure you are running on high performance. click battery in task bar and check its not set to balanced.
check your amd control panel that the benchys are using your amd and not the HD4000
    report back

Thanks for your help MrDJ, really appreciate it. Feel like my £1200 bit of kit is useless right now :(

Ok so I removed the 7970M drivers and the results were better using my intel card only AMD Radeon HD 7970M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3630QM Processor,CLEVO P170EM. Didnt do a full test as the firestorm is painfully slow at the moment. The results pick up my ATI card but it looks like its not using it in anyway.

Ok will check the other bits now (once ive installed the 7970 driver) and report back

your welcome mate, thats what were here for.

    who's OKUK is that overclockers?

strange that you got a higher score after removing the ati drivers. ive only ever owned a desktop with ati back in the prehistoric days and it blew up after a year so ive always had nvidia ever since :)

One thing that is odd though is that GPU-Z still says my clock is 300mhz... freeking graphics switching!

How many FPS do you get when playing Kirby's Dreamland? :p

MrDJ is right about the benchmark variations. I think in published tests, they run multiple passes and then post the medium/average.

You could download the .bin, convert it to .iso, burn it to a blu-ray and upscale it. :p

    no probs mate,your welcome.

dont forget to download maybe core temps and hwinfo64 to monitor your cpu temps and msi after burner to monitor your gpu temps (not sure what else to use for to monitor ati cards). all in sig below.

if you really want to push your lappy to the limit run intel extreme tuning utility which should be pre loaded, if not thats also below.
    it melts my 15" :D
