    How to turn off touchpad on Sager NP2096

    Cannot seem to disable it, only uninstall on the device manager. How can I temporarily DISABLE touchpad when I am playing a game or typing?

    I followed the instructions found on the "Sager Notebook Owners" thread, post #579, and it worked beautifully....

    Usually, you can disable the touchpad by holding down the FN button and pressing F1, at least that's what I do on my M570TU.

    or, if you have the driver installed, you can disable it on the device settings tab of the mouse properties

    FN 1 doesn't work for it, it's sleep.

    Fn+F1 is usually the toggle for Clevo notebooks.

    The Sager 2096 is a Compal notebook.

    To disable the touchpad, you can disable it in the Device Manager, or make a hotkey for it if there is no function key.

    ... or Download and install the ALPS touchpad driver for XP/Vista and disable "tap to click"

    Yeah you should use the ALPS touchpad driver instead of the Synaptics. Just install it and disable tap to click in the settings.

    This program NoTouchpad.com should work for you. It sets up a hotkey WIN+Q that toggles the touchpad on and off
