how do u do it. many have said u can, but from what i hear the Np8660 w/ geforce 9800 GT only has HDMI output not input. does it matter or do u have to buy an adapter? O and i would have put this in the NP8660 owners lounge thread but i couldn't find it.

Yea you would have to get a TV tuner, or some device that allows for HDMI in. If you go the TV tuner route, the quality may not be much better than what you get on a standard def TV.

the HDMI on np8660 is out only. in this case you will need a tv tuner just like danny said.

Yea, I was thinking more along the lines of an HDMI Capture card. I did a quick search but the only ones I could find were for desktops, like this http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/intensity/. There just does not seem to be a huge demand for HDMI input on computers yet. Its more of a specialty product.

^^^^ Because you can get a PS3 (and possibly a game or two) for the same price you can buy a blu-ray drive for the laptop. This solution really doesn't apply to you if you just want to watch blu-ray movies in full res on your laptop.

You could also buy a pretty cheap small lcd TV, but that's not exactly the cheapest way to go about it.
Target and BestBuy both have some pretty nice 19 inch 720p LCD TV's that you can hook up both your laptop and PS3 to for about $250-$300.
