I am planing on getting a PH150EM. But the CPU a chose in the config is just the first option that was listed on the res-seller's website (i7 2610...). I think I will need a more powerful CPU somewhere in the near future.

Does anybody have any experience with upgrading CPUs? How tricky is it? Is there any important things I should know before I buy the notebook.

See if you can locate the PH150EM "Service Manual" somewhere. Perhaps from where you purchased your lappy. If it is like my x7200 service manual, there will be a step by step outline of how to change your CPU.

It all depends on your comfort level. Have you every build a desktop or upgraded a CPU in one? If so then a notebook isnt much different. Some people have no problem opening up the computer and messing around with the components while other people would never dream of it.
For CPU's that it will support, it will be for sure the ones listed as upgrade options now and their direct replacemnts. Future ones of a different chipset probably wont work.
