if you added more ram to your desktop i'd say they'd be comparable even though the athlon is one core. but i think the sager 2092 would be better and faster overall even with ram upgrade.

That depends on whether you're going to be putting the 2092 down flat, or standing it up on edge, and even then, which edge. :D :D :D

It would be comparable, however the notebook should outperform the desktop in overall use.

I would not get the Intel Turbo Mem, its useless and not worth it.

I already ordered it. It was just $35 and only good (even if minimal) can come out of it.

I'm looking at the same notebook, minus the turbo mem and the bigger slower HDD. Hopeing it's gonna be pwnage for some Age of Conan. Only concern is, how far does that battery stick out ;>

about 3/4 inch. if you're concerned about it being a nuisance or getting in the way, don't worry. it hasn't been bothersome at all. and the bigger slower hdd you speak of is comparable the 200 gig 7200 rpm one. it's probably still slower, but not by much. the more dense a hdd is the faster, it can be read and written.

Yeah that's what I had read, I figured if the speed loss isn't noticeable, why not get a bit more. I have 1TB of NAS that my dad is ordering for me, but I figure incase anything happens too it, I still want to be able to cary a large chunk of my media with me. Do you have any being cons to the sager 209x pukemon?

resale value. sager's not a big name like dell or hp so it is not as recognizable. it probably won't do well on ebay, but it would do much better on a forum like this. other than that, sagers are very nice with that are backed very well by the warranties and excellent support.

Sorry for running away with the thread OP. But thanks pukemon, resell value isn't too important for me honestly. When I'm done with it and out of college, I'll give it away to my brother or sister. Now I just need to wait patiently for mom to send me money. "Twiddles thumbs"
Hey, it's either this or get a job, AMIRITE?
