Been looking for a decent laptop that isn't too expensive. Seems to be the cheapest 1660ti laptop out there, 2060 being a very marginal difference in performance didn't make sense to spend more for a 2060 laptop, and 2070 laptops are much too expensive for me since most are $400+ more from their 1660ti counterparts.

Are you buying the base version, or are you planning to change up components? I got a 2060 P970ED that I absolutely love now that I sorted out all of its issues. I'm guessing the NH70RCQ is probably not too different, especially since it seems like the chassis (machined aluminum?) is the same as my model.
Also, it seems the 1660 Ti outperforms the RTX 2060 in many, but not all, cases. There's no real reason to go for 2060. 1660 Ti is also less expensive (obviously).

Due to variable TDPs that's not really a way you can compare them. Generally the 2060 will be faster.

The 2060 is a larger die with more shaders. Running more shaders at a lower clock is typically more efficient.

If you want to read up more look at clock vs efficiency curves, you will start to understand some decisions made by chip manufacturers.

I think I've settled on grabbing a MSI GF65 Thin with 16gb ram, the i7-9750h and 1660ti for around 1k USD from hidevolution, all stock but minus the nvme drive to save some money cause I already have one. Seems to be the only laptop within it's price range to have a better than 60hz screen (120hz so to speak). Also a couple mm thinner than all the other similar laptops in it's price range. Shipping seems a bit pricy though, CA$77.56 for ground shipping without duties, taxes or anything to Canada. Was tempted to find a laptop off ebay, there were some really good deals, for similar spec laptops for less, and cheaper shipping but minus the 120hz screen sadly.

Just remember thinner usually means a bit noisier too.

Finally ordered a new laptop. Ordered a Legion Y540 for $1,488.64 CAD (roughly 1120 USD) from the Lenovo website with the TSM10 coupon, free shipping and student discount. Hands down the cheapest 17.3 inch 1660ti/9750h/144hz combination laptop I could find by a mile, with all the closest options being only 15.6 inches and only available from the states (meaning expensive shippings/duties). I'm glad I was able to find something that fit what I wanted without having to pay an extra limb to cover for duties, brokerage or shipping. I was really iffy on the GF65, as there were no reviews and was basically pre-order only. GF63 reviews were only okay at best from what I saw; small and light chassis, but only had a single fan cooling solution.

I'm glad you have found a machine but this is the clevo/sager section so you should head over to the section for your manufacturer.
How's the NH70RCQ?
