Thought I'd share this with everyone since this is more relevant in this section:

    WOOT! BIG NEWS!
I just talked to a sales associate at PCMicroworks.com named Thomas. I told him I was interested in buying the D900C (Blackhawk, for them). Anyway, here's a few tidbits from the conversation:
    *****
8800M is already on the roadmap for the current D900C configuration and will be available for purchase by the end of the year. It WILL be compatible with the current motherboard.
    *****
The newest 1333Mhz FSB Core 2 Duos are NOT currently compatible (e.g. 6850), but they are looking at the possibility of a bios update. If not, they may be offering a MOBO upgrade by the middle of next year to support DDR-3, the Penryns, and the 8900M which will be out by then!

Lastly, I think Im going to buy from them. :)

hehe..don't wanna kill your dreams Impugningcynic, but that iswhat sales department is supposed to tell you ;)
..you see, i'm doing sales for biggest satelite tv provider in usa..question we get very often is "will i get local channels (ABC, CBS, NBC & FOX) in HD..and guess what? even if customer is calling from middle of nowhere, we tell them of course you will! it's on our roadmap ;p we even make them pay for HD upgrade "so they will be ready for these channels"..that's how sales work ;)
these guys are resellers..just like powernotebooks and xotic..they are no manufacturers (Clevo), so i wouldn't trust these words until there is confirmation from Clevo..or at least Sager.
..anyway, if that was official justin or donald would tell us ;) after all they both have contacts (working Sager and Clevo) and that would boost sales nicely ;)

I'll have to agree with bobeer86, since the 8800m isn't even out yet so it's almost impossible to say what that graphics card is out, considering it doesn't even exist in the market today. :(

Its very irresponsible for any vendor/reseller to confirm or claim things that cannot and have not been available for confirmation.

Thats my job. :) .... or not. ;)

yea... Sager told me outright over the phone anyone who says they'll have the 8700 within the next two weeks is LYING... and then he went on about how long sagers been around and to trust them...
anywayz... E6850 apparently wouldn't work cuz of the the diff in the FSB, i think WUjen said... which prollly takes a lil more than just Bios changing to fix

exactly guys..fsb change is not possible with BIOS update..it would just be overclocking ;)
..it's just like saying that we will add you second hard drive enclosure via patch on the wbsite ;p

A E6850 would probably work with the D901C as is. You would not be getting 3.0Ghz though. It's clock multi is 9x so if it did work on a 1066FSB you'd be looking at it only working at 2.4Ghz.

so basically... until the newer batch of processors come out, the x6800, is the best you can go in the D900... this new batch didn't help much?

Right not for our notebooks. Whenever they change the FSB of a Machine don't count on anything past it being available for your notebook. I knew of the new FSB the 1333Mhz but the best notebook I could get was the D901C so..... :)
I'm happy and to be honest your not going to notice that big a difference.

Yea its ok cuz the D900 will be handling Dual 8700s soon... :) so that, with prolly an E6700, (we'll see if i can scrounge up the xtra to get the x6800) will be beast!
