looking very good
i wonder if you could later post idle/stress temps for that cpu -
SICK configuration, i dj as well, but i can't purchase mine until i get back to montreal. im gettin the np9262 with the 9800m gtx. i would've advised to wait for that gpu, as it looks very promising, but your config is a great buy.
since you have the inspiron, why not use it for schoolwork, that way, you won't be writing papers while you spin the vestax. i have it as well, and its such an awesome controller, if i could recommend ANYTHING to upgrade your set up, i would say get an external mixer (korg km-402?).
this way you can begin to mix externally on traktor and allo inputs from other sound sources, like turntables, drum machines, synthesizers, etc. it will really expand your creativity.
THE ONE THING I SHOULD MENTION... this might hurt if you haven't already thought of a solution....TRAKTOR doesn't work on x64 bit operating systems, so watch out, i've already emailed native instruments and they said they are working on an upgrade, but that it would be available later this year, probably october/november. just thought i'd let you know if u didnt already know.
GREAT BUY!!! -
Welcome to the family! The NP5796 should serve you well, and its sleek looks should accompany your DJ work quite nicely.
-
thanks alot guys. Do you guys know of any good USB powered flexible lights? I am gonna need one for DJing. And what about a nice sturdy bag. Any recommendations?
-
Couldn't wait for the 9800GTX, heh? Why not 4 GB of DDR3 RAM? Xoticpc offers it for a very reasonable price. Otherwise, still a very kick-arse config.
-
USB Lights? I think you can get some on ThinkGeek. Link here: http://www.thinkgeek.com/computing/accessories/5a84/?cpg=ab

nice rig indeed.

I am expecting a review, seen too many 9262 and 5793 around.
I want new stuff, and you have it.
Fingers crossed for ya. -
Congrats on your new purchase. What a step up from you last laptop. LOL
Like day and night -
You have no idea. Do you guys have any bags you would recommend? -
I always recommend the Targus XL. I've been using it now for a bit over a year on my D901C. If it can handle my heavy beast it should do you well also.
-
What upgrades do you guys recommend OTHER then making it 4GB of RAM.

I've heavily used a Trager (mine is the Seattle Messenger Bag) since 1998, usually having between 30 and 45 pounds of weight in it, sometimes over 50. There is no comparison... the thing looks brand new, has dealt with airports, hospitals, out on the field (as in dirty construction areas), airports, conferences, trains, buses, classrooms, my house with my cat... nothing touches its toughness. I've been able to use mine as a notebook bag by simply taking the innards from an old notebook suitcase and a stiff piece of industrial cardboard and still kept my massive size, but obviously with their "daddy" laptop option (which didn't exist in 99, heh), no need to mod it at all. For DJing, my DJ friends have used my bag for their records and even (though only once, thank goodness for me) their turntable. Great dimensions for carrying records!
While *I* have a standard messenger bag for my daily use, I can vouch and say their laptop bags are beyond compare, too, as my colleagues can tell you after taking their bags out into some seriously nasty weather and coming back with only them not cleaning up perfectly.
I Finally Took The Leap!!
