this notebook has been out for a while now... you should really look at the D901C owners thread, and the numerous reviews/impressions.

Oh ya, there's an issue... Power don't come cheap. If you can get past the cost you'll be absorbing, you could have a smokin' machine! The fastest on the planet.

    ya it hardly comes up...
    anyway benchmarks are good
the sli 9800M gtx is not insanely higher than the single 9800m gtx but there arent many games which can take full advantage of the SLI and such, usually the SLI will get you more FPS at higher resolutions in Crysis. Farcry 2 benchmarks would be better probably. No issues, its just big, bulky and powerful. If you want to futureproof yourself for a while get it, if you want a laptop that can do more than a desktop, get it. if you want something to show off, get it, if your just rich, get it, if you want something portable, dont get it.

If there is one thing I hate about my NP9262,,, it is the static noise!

Really, tried to get around it, contacted Sager themselves, but no solution.

The static noise coming from the headphone jack is totally un-tolerated

If you don’t use headphones at all, it’s a nice system.

And btw, its huge,,, don’t underestimate it!

    you try other headphones....
    - or making sure the mic is muted
    - or check the settings of Realtek Sound Manager/Software

I mainly use an add-on/external soundcard now when using my notebook.
    - Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS (PCMCIA slot) ..... for gaming mainly.
    - M-Audio FW1814 (Firewire) or M-Audio Transit (USB) ..... for pro-audio stuff

My headphones are perfectly fine, when I use them on my old HP laptop, they are amazingly quite the sound is just amazing.

It is somting with this machine (speakers are just fine though), and its definitely not somthing with the mic/settings , I tried them, but since I power up the machine, I have this static noise.

Getting a new external sound card is not the solution,,, as I said my old HP and toshiba laptops have no problem!

I'm suspecting something to do with the AUG cable/port, since whenever I insert a CD and it starts spinning, the sound goes very low.

I believe you can use another jack as the headphone jack.

The Realtek software should let you configure the sound output for the jacks.

You are right, when I use the other jack (last one the left) for headphone, the static sound is completely gone, but also the sound is very low, even when everything is maxed up! not useful :(

make sure to set the only 2-CH output.

it sounds low since it might be outputing multiple channels through 3-4 analog jacks.

play with the Realtek Software config and the Windows Volume Control (make sure all audio sources are listed so you can manage their individual volumes)

no static here what so ever. sound is crystal clear including a little bass. which was surprising.
