I asked Eurocom about the M570RU release date, you know, one said July 1st, one said July 31st, and here was the reply:

Edit: Oh, what do you know. It was just updated, and given the "Divine" name.

 

Funny, I just noticed that they changed it since I have been checking that site every day for the past two weeks. Well, at least it's better than the 31st but not quite the July 1st date that I was hoping for.

 

It's timed just right so I can get it before school! I hope it has whatever the 8M enthusiest chip will be called by then.

 

Since Eurocom is in Canada - do you guys think that's a Canadian release date? I wonder if other Clevo/Sager Resellers will have a different release date for the RU in the US...hmm

 

North America resellers should get it near the same time... regardless if its US or Canada.

No, the site says that now as well. So long as I get it before school starts, I'm happy. Here's the thing that still bugs me. We don't know if that actually means it will have the enthusiest 8M chip by then. Man, I hope it does.

The price seems to be within my reach too if you turn on their currency converter you can see what it cost in USD.

 

Oh, I like the white much more than the orange. Sweetness.

 

Man, that price is definitely within reach, just a shame it's across the pond. I'm assuming that's just for preoder, so I'm just wondering when we're going to be getting our preoder sites up over here.

Also, hopefully somebody will have a review shortly, because of the M570RU turns out to be a lemon then I have no clue what I'm going to do laptop-wise.

 

The recent high-end Clevo's have yet to disappoint.

The M570RU should dominate the competition in terms of features to price.

 

I should hope so, but my other big concern is being able to get a 7950GTX in there to start out with and being able to switch it out for a high-end 8m card later on down the line, when DX10 becomes more prominent. It's kind of annoying that all these new mobile cards are worse than what I can get now, but if I want to keep up game-wise with my laptop beyond a year or two I have to wait until they get their act together and put out a DX10 card worth owning.

If I can swap, that'd be a big help, but I haven't been able to find anything that says the M570RU would let me do that, specifically. Probably because the high-end cards aren't out, though.

 

i can't wait to see some more pictures of the new white trimming, i already thought the orange looked great, but a little too 'unclassy'.
but with the white trim on it, it's a 'you can run it all!' gaming laptop with a business-like finish.
the orange is more for people using it solely for gaming.
the white is more for people using it for business / school work too.

Yes you can upgrade you own RAM... just dont screw up the notebook... which is extremely rare for a competent person to do.

You really do not need the DDR2/800, DDR2/667 should suffice.

 

what's the big diffrence then? im using it for audio/video editing, and im so sick of having lag when multitasking... i feel incomplete when not buying the 800mhz

i could also wait for the 800 mhz to become cheaper and please myself with the 2gb single strip first? would that be wise?

at eurocom they talk about the m570RU DIVINE, which is the one with the orange trim.. what is the white one called? or was that just modified by rockdirect?

 

Well, here's the thing. Every D900C you see that's black are actually D901Cs. They just advertise both the balck and blue as one.

The difference berween M570U and M575U is a black cover and a bay blue cover. So I'm gonna guess M570RU's other color will be M575RU. But with that, white or orange could be either one.

I think it'd be really neat if they offered the trim in any color you want. Like, if it could snap off and you could put on your own color.

 

I like the orange strip better. A WUXGA screen,2 gb of ram and some kind of warranty for under $2200 would be awesome. Though, is there any advantage to the 800mhz ram yet?

I'm still flying between Asus C90, Clevo M570RU, and building my own mATX desktop that I can carry around.

 

I read that 570ru is gonna come with 7950GTX, now im not sure if i wait for new XPS1710 to come out, or wait for HP HDX 20' or a xps m2010 to come out with a high end GPU .
Should i consider a G2s ?

I'd wait for the NP5790 to offer the 8700M GTX. While it is not being introduced with it, I would expect that you will see it within a couple of months or so. If you are going to have to wait for the others to be released...just keep your powder dry until they are all out and then choose the best of the lot.

It's going to be offered with 7950GTX and 8700M GT. I can say with confidence that if Dell comes out with something competitive with it, the Dell will be way more expensive. Same thing with HDX.

 

is there still no Exact release date on the 8700m? and their follow ups? Donald, i will be editing video, and playing games at hi settings. would it be sufficient?

 

HP HDX starts at 2999 and with all options is over 4000

 

HP did a test and found out the there isn't a significant performance increase of turbo memory over readyboost so they aren't offering turbo memory. Sony also has announced it won't use Turbo memory.

 

The 8700M has been "paper" released by nVIDIA but each laptop ODM/OEM will have its own shipping date. Sager/Clevo do not have a firm shipping date at this time but they are working hard on it and hope to have it out before the end of August.

However since it is a step down in the Hierarchy I would personally stick with the 7950 GTX now and then wait to upgrade until the 8800 begins shipping late this year or early next year.

 

So, Donald. Will Sager offer 8800 upgrade kit for 5790? I know that it might not be a simple swap, however I've seen in the past that when sager was offering an upgrade where they modify the motherboard as well(or replacing it). Do you think that might be the case for 5790 as well?

 

As I have said many times before there is no way to know whether the 8800 will even work in the current NP5790. There is no way to test a video card that does not exist, and the 8800 may have power and thermal issues that will need significant modifications to the NP5790.

So until that is known, and Sager makes a public announcement about an upgrade program, your question would require a crystal ball to answer...and mine broke last week.
