I just bought a clevo n650du notebook, then I flash a coffelake bios based on stock clevo bios.

However, when take a benchmark test, cpu frequency drop to 3.6ghz.

I can fix this problem by Increasing cpu current limit (icc max).

Then I use amibcp unlocked hidden settings, but I can't change icc max by change parameters in bios.
    the path is
Trust me ,I searched over and over again, but I just don't get it can any one show me the way .
I am sorry but english is not my first language so, I hope you can understand.....

    Thanks

You can't change it? Why not?
What happens when you try to change it?
    Please explain the problem.
Is the option not there? Missing?

    Tks for reply me.
I was using latest clevo bios, I unlocked many hidden menus with amibcp

icc max did not work at all, at the same time, xtu worked.

    Well
I unlock many hidden menus with amibcp,so I can change cpu vr settings.

XTU shows that core current limit cpu frequency, when I increase the cpu core current limit, cpu frequency get higher.

So I decided to change icc max, which means I don't have to change xtu settings anymore.

But iccmax change nothing ,even I increase iccmax to 100A, cpu core current limit still restricted cpu.

well ,I guess it is a bug, since 100 montherboard can support coffe lake well.
Anyway ,XTU works well ,and 8400 is enough for me.

    Thanks for your reply anyway

    @shisui
This is easy to check for this bug.
Change ICCMax in XTU to some value. Like, 400 amps or whatever the limit is.

    Then reboot to bios.
Then check all the VR settings. You only checked Core I/A
There is also system agent, GT sliced and GT unsliced.
Maybe you have a bug and the "Core" one in XTU is linked improperly to system agent or GT sliced.

If that's true then you know what to change in Bios.

I have a similar problem. Clevo N650DU, i7-6700, factory BIOS 1.06.06. Maybe someone can help me to unlock it?

Generally it's not advised for beginners to start unlocking power limits on boards like this. What VRM cooling improvements are you making?

until now i removed ihs to replace thermal paste, cpu temps are ok. i need boost from 60A to about 77. i saw that there was a config N650DU with i5 - 6600K so maybe VRM cooling upgrade is not necessarily.
