Congratulations, frank633. Be sure to get plenty of sleep the night prior to UPS delivering your notebook. I can guarantee you that you will not be getting any sleep the day your notebook comes in.

Atleast it was two months of well used time for research on an exceptional notebook. It will all pay off when it comes, frank633. We need to play after you get your notebook up and running.

I would suggest it if your ambiant temperature is 25+c. If not, you don't really need any, but it's never a bad thing to have.

I just entered phase 4 (Shipping) at Xotic PC, already received by Zalman NC2000 and can't wait to get my laptop! It's scheduled to be delivered on Friday. The only thing I'm worried about is the luck of a draw to get a Seagate HDD. Unfortunately guys at Xotic can't guarantee which one it will be, it all depends on the stock availability. Does anyone know does Western Digital HDD run hotter than Seagate Momentus?

    Congrats on your new laptop!

If you ordered from Eurocom, first thing you should do when you get it, is check your video card, there is a good possibility you may end up with a 9800M GTX, as Eurocom likes to pawn off old stock on unsuspecting customers.

They may also flash the vbios of a 9800M GTX to look like a GTX 260M, to move them, so examine it carefully to make sure you got a real 260M.

I also recommend the NC2000 but I also have the NC1000 and find it much easier to travel with, it fits easily inside of a rucksack along with the laptop.

Be sure to take the heat sink off your GPU to see if they really gave you a GTX 260M or a vbios flashed 9800M GTX.

If I flashed my GTX 280M with my old 9800M GTX BIOS, then GPU-Z would say 9800M GTX. Look at the shaders or ROP's. If it says seven, as in seven shader clusters, then you indeed have the GTX 260M.

Only Eurocom does this as far as I know. Xotic and Powernotebooks.com and R&J Tech from what I know are honest legit businesses, never heard of this kind of problem with them before. Eurocom on the other hand routinely breaks the law and lies/misleads it's customers to increase profit and move old tech.

I envy you so much! I just completed the wire transfer on friday after the whole paypal ordeal. I thought the transfer took minutes to arrive, but my rep at Xotic told me it could take as much as 5 days for the transfer to clear.

Oh man I can't wait. I got it with the P8700 though, that's as much as I could afford. Hopefully it will still game well and mean!

Enjoy your new PC twice as much for me Ellatan, at least till mine arrives.

I think the cost was about $1650, shipping included, with military + cash discount from Xotic PC. I also made a payment with a wire transfer and although my bank said it went through immediately, it took about 1.5-2 days to complete, but no worries there. It all depends on the bank from what I was told.

I do live in US. Wire transfer is a direct transaction between two bank accounts, that doesn't involve checks.
