but what exactly does "Glare Type" screen means? (5793 and 9262) I see there are lot of anti-glare screens on google.
-
I'm pretty sure glare type is just another name for glossy
-
Glossy is sort of a glass-like appearance. In certain environments it's not very effective, especially when outside or with the sun or a bright light to your back. However in less lit places and like indoors, it can produce a (subjectively) better quality image, with less visible pixellation and better color reproduction. The popular term to describe the look of glossy is that the colors "pop" better.
The Sager 5793 I have uses a pretty good panel, the glossy 1920x1200 is very nice and easy to look at. -
so anti-glare means matt?
-
anti-glare might not mean matte... it might just mean anti-reflective
matte = matte -
that's what confused me, because I've seen some dell lappies with anti-glare glossy screen.
-
some glossy screens have a thin surface that decreases reflections.... which could be considered anti-glare

I just love the marketing people.
Two of the disadvantages of a glossy screen (Super Clear Glossy, X-Bright, or several other superlatives added to glossy to make it sound better) are that they are reflective and they have excessive glare...so wouldn't you know it, the marketing people decided that since there is a light coating to try to reduce these disadvantages, they would disguise the truth by calling them Anti-Glare, Anti-Reflective (but glossy nonetheless) screens.
So, whenever you see Anti-Glare and/or Anti-Reflective you can rest assured that it is NOT a matte screen...it is a glossy screen. -
So Anti-Glare is really super glare? I've always found glossy screens to have more vibrant color but at the same time suffer from picking up a lot of reflections. It's like Sony with their TrueBright technology. Or all the others having a 'technology' name for their glossy screens.
Thanks Donald! -
" Anti-glare" is typically used for LCDs with matte surface or what we simply call " matte".
(For the record, HP and Lenovo advertise the matte screens they use in their business-class notebooks as "anti-glare")
" Anti-reflective" are the popular " glossy" screens found in most of the notebooks these days, with just different marketing names.
Here is an article about that:

What about super clear super bright ultra glossy screens seen on sagers?
Talk about fancy naming for glossy screens
I know this is too late to ask
