    Hello.

I was wondering if anybody has any recommendations on a online place based in the UK that do good
quality replacement screens for a Kobalt Comanche 17 (aka Clevo D900F) laptop and you can buy the
screen online and fit it yourself or you can also send the laptop in to them to fit it for you?

The reason why I need a new screen for the laptop is because something hot must have fell onto the
laptop screen and melted it little bit. There is what looks like a little melted spot near the center
of the screen and when you brush over it with your nails, you can feel it and looks to me like someone
has dropped ash or somthing on it which has not melted right through the screen but has
made a melt spot witch you can clearly see on a white background.

It's definitely a melt because I have tried to clean the screen which does not remove it.

Since I am maybe buying a new screen for this laptop then if I can actually get one that is even a
better screen than the standard ones you get with the Kobalt Comanche 17 and Clevo D900F,
then that would be great but if not, the standard ones you get with these laptops would be fine.

    Hopefully someone can help.

    Thanks for your recommendations.

The best option is to find out which display exactly is in your notebook (you can use software like AIDA64 or SIW for this) and then order this exact display at some company like ScreenTek.

If you really want a better screen then having the precise model number is a good starting point anyway because it would give your spare screen expert enough informations on what additional screens would be compatible with your model in terms of placement of the LCD cable and other factors.

Sorry to interrupt again but we have experience with the D900F. The official Clevo documents specify these screen model numbers for the D900F:

    6-50-NB266-G01 = LCD 17 " AU WUXGA B170UW01
    6-50-NB266-G00 = LCD 17" AU WUXGA / GLARE TYPE B170UW01

And no, this is not an offer. We do not sell these screens right now.

I take it the D900F screens are actually standard, meaning anyone would fit a D900F?

The Kobalt Comanche 17 I have is based on Clevo D900F, I have heard they uses the
same hardware parts so I would I be right in thinking all parts for a D900F
would fit and work on this laptop without problems?

The Kobalt company themselves are no more so I can`t get support from them.

You can rightly assume that Kobalt's D900F is just a normal D900F without any deviations. So the displays mentioned above (and all compatible types - ask an expert!) should work!
