So I've got a couple of questions, I've been overclocking my GPU for quite a while now and it works great, still trying to find some good drivers (any reccomendations?) and I'm starting to OC my CPU (T7500). I've gotten artifacts at times while OCing my GPU but only when I pass 735Mhz for my core clock. I've managed to OC my 2.2ghz processor to 2.4ghz stable. I've run Orthos and it was fine, but as soon as I start a game (Age of Conan) I start to get artifacts. What exactly causes artifcats, is it heat (All coponents are under 70*C) or something else?

Do you increase the FSB to Overclock the CPU and which software do you use to do it..??

    1. disable your cpu o/c try again
    2. try the 177.41 drivers - they seem attract alot of praise.
    3. if still artifacts appear try lowering your gpu o/c slowly down to stock

btw how about other games ? any artifacts ?

I heard you can't overclock both GPU and CPU at the same time in this notebook. But I'm not sure if this issue has been fixed or not.

^^ Depends upon what software one is using to OC....

    You can ish.
If you do a bios clock on the graphics card and then use setFSB it can be done, but not by much!!!
    Check my sig.

No it doensn't. In the m570ru (np579x) the pcie frequency is locked to the fsb, so if you up the fsb, any gpu oc becomes unstable. You can overclock either the cpu or the gpu If you overclock both then you will get a much smaller stable oc than any you can get separately. The only way to propery oc both is with multiplier with an extreme cpu.

Use either clockgen and lock the increase to the PCI-E....or only overclock the FSB and not the GPU..!!
Overclocking the FSB will increase the frequency of everything attached to the Northbridge....RAM, CPU, GPU, etc. :)

What would you guys reccomend for best gaming performance? Overclocking my GPU to 735/980 or overclocking my CPU from 2.2 to 2.5? Should I switch between them depending on what I'm doing? =P

*Edit* If you don't mind, can you explain how to only overclock only the FSB and not the GPU? Is there a guide somewhere I could read?

the 0.3GHz increase in clock frequency won't make a difference even if you are not gaming.. :D

Overclock the GPU as much as you can, because the graphics are rendered by the GPU not the CPU..!! But overclocking the GPU will shorten its life..!! IF you are willing to risk it, then good luck..!! :)

Well, I've been overclocking the GPU for quite some time now 2 1/2 months now and I haven't had many problems. How much shorter of a life am I looking at?

i tend to agree, gpu o/c will be more effective.
however that actually depends on the games you play, some game depends more on gpu (fps) while other are more cpu intensive (rts).
anyway .3ghz will make little difference. ntune ftw :)

I'm using EVGA Precision for my OCing should I use Rivatuner or Ntune instead?
*Edit* I like it for the ingame FPS and GPU temp reading
