Im looking at laptops from Eurocom as am from Canada and cant really afford the duties from buying elsewhere. thing is i want to save some money and go for the older model, M571RU i want it with the 1440 x 900 resolution so i can game at native res without it being too hard on the gpu. The thing i want to know is what is the ms response time of that model screen with that res?, and what is the contrast ratio?. Ive called eurocom to ask them, but they cant seem to find that info, so if anyone knows for sure, or has a 1440 x 900 res version of the m571ru could you let me know or post the model number so i can check it out?, i just want to be sure its a high end screen with great colors and i wont see any ghosting at all on it, as i play mostly FPS like crysis, this is the only issue holding me back from buying it right now.

I dnt think the refresh rate matters much with the new technologies.

If I were you I would go with a 1920x1200 screen too.

Unfortunately, there are no standards that govern what the specifications mean, so manufacturers measure these parameters differently, usually in a way that enhances their own product. Contrast numbers, which should be one of the most useful specifications to a consumer (and one of the easiest to measure), are notoriously useless because there is no standard definition of "black".

I see, 1920 x 1200 is a bit much for me, i cant justify spending the extra cash on it, plus i want to play all my games at native res, will there be any ghosting on the M571RU's 1440 x 900 screen?
